Miller and Deace This AM.....Really?

So I get in my car this morning at 7:40 for my 15 minute drive into work. I am giddy with excitement to hear discussion of the beatdown that ensued on Saturday at Kinnick which just so happens to be by far the biggest topic to recap this week. What do I have to listen to for 10 minutes before the usual 5 minutes of commercials before I arrive at work? Steve bowing at the untied shoes of Denard Robinson and Michigan. Are you serious? He was making ridiculous proclamations about how great of a player he is. He has played UConn and Nortre Ame (they have no D). There was one reference of Iowa and Iowa State and that was that their fans were unable to watch "one of the greatest performances by a QB in college football history."

I understand that Jon and Steve probably recapped Iowa/Iowa State earlier in the show. But drive time has to be the highest rated time for them and there wasn't one discussion of the game. That is absurd. It is no wonder I don't podcast this show during my day at work. Ten minutes on my way to work is more than enough.

/rant.

They discussed it earlier. Basically said it was a beat down of epic proportions, JV vs. Varsity.

I am in absolute agreement. No one, and I mean NO ONE, in this listening audience gives two $hits about Meatchicken and their overhyped quarterback. Get back to me when they play a defense with a pulse and one that understands the fundamentals of tackling.

What I heard this morning was an abomination and Jon should be ashamed for allowing Steve to dominate the airwaves with that crap. On the Monday after Iowa/Iowa State week, the 7am hour should be wall-to-wall recap of the game. If you want to talk Meatchicken, save that crap for the 6am hour.

Jon, this ain't the Big Ten Network.....it's okay if you don't give equal time to other teams in the conference.

As Deace would say, "Just sayin......"

Sinc ewe play Michigan and Robinson had an amazing 2 weeks, i think it is relavant. I understand the frustration. Just sayin...

The Iowa/ISU discussion was very brief considering it was Iowa/ISU. We know the game was one sided, but it still should have been the main topic the entire show. They never even mentioned it during the entire first hour.

Didnt people fall for this last year? You would think they would learn.

People were thinking after the Notre Dame game last year that Michigan was back and the quarterback was an all world Heisman trophy winner. Then they started playing real teams.

We talked about it for 30 straight minutes. Sorry were not in your car at that time . I talked about it for three hours Saturday night and wrote all about it yesterday.

What Denard Robinson is doing is unprecedented in college football history so we'll talk about it with no apologies.

What were they supposed to do? Talk about a game that was over in 15 minutes for an hour?? There really wasn't much you could talk about regarding the game Saturday. In addition to the fact that Robinson is doing things that have never been done, I don't see what the big deal is.

Mike Greenberg is an idiot...this was my favorite line: "Robinson has to be the leading heisman candidate, in fact hes THE ONLY HEISMAN CANDIDATE!"

As of right now he is the only heisman candidate, that may change next week, or a month from now, but today, he's the only one in the conversation.

You can say all you want about the quality of the D's he faced, but the fact of the matter is I don't think anyone has put together back to back games this impressive in the history of college football. Think about that for a second. The best 2 game stretch EVER!

I will not join in on the "Michigan and Dennard are overrated" comments.

I think we'll have a lot of trouble with him.

Before he threw the ill-advised pick late in the game vs Iowa last year, he was running very effectively against the hawks.

I think Michigan will be a very tough opponent for us. Just sayin'

It should be a topic of conversation wherever CFB is being discussed.
Robinson's performances have both come vs 2 BCS teams (how good yet to be determined). Robinson has broken records for the winningest program in CFB history not once but twice in 2 games (not sure if UM is still the winningest but if not awfull dam close). The guy accounted for 502 yards vs ND, not old powerhouse ND but still ND.

It's newsworthy! It's crazy newsworthy regardless of market. That doesn't mean that Robinson has staying power or will do anything close to this in the B10 but it is probably the biggest news story in CFB to date.

What he did last year against Iowa doesn't mean it will happen this year, in 2009 Iowa didn't prepare for him, they prepared for Forcier, this year they will have 14 days to prepare for him.

I love having the bye before the Michigan game this year for this reason.

Just read this thread. I think it is hilarious how everyone is trashing Miller and Deace, then Miller shows up and defends himself, then everyone else comes on here and defends Jon. JM is not Jesus, it is OK to disagree with him.

Of course it is OK to disagree with me. But you are selling people short. Clearly there are a lot of smart people on this board, because they agree with me ;)

Talk about it all you want, but be prepared for two things: 1) People turning the channel and 2) being challenged on your analysis.

I was hoping someone would challenge Deace on his near-orgasm on the radio today, but alas it didn't happen.

Could Robinson's record setting weeks be because Michigan has absolutely no one else on offense to rely on? Could Rodriguez be riding Robinson into the ground because he knows Robinson is his only chance to keep his job because they have no one else offensively and their defense is horrible? Will Robinson still be in one piece after he plays the likes of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Ohio State this year?

If you're going to talk about this, maybe we could keep the dramatics to a minimum and possibly analyze it more than, "He's the greatest ever!" "I've never seen anything like it in college football!" I thought I was listening to my teenage daughter describing the latest dreamy boy at school.

I'm at work this morning. Started my response before Jon even posted.
Silly coment

I'm going to leave the whole "shoulda talked about Ia-ISU the entire 7:00 hr arguement alone". But having watched Denard Robinson the last two weekends, All I can say is "wow".
If he can stay healthy this guy will set records that no-one will touch.
Iowa will need 2 weeks to prepare for him. He's elusive and quick not to mention break-away speed.
What's worse he seems to be better throwing the ball. He's pretty darn good.
Michigan plays a couple lesser opponents coming up so his stats maybe unreal.(video gamesque).
I'm not a Michigan fan, but they have a real game changer over there.
