McNutt Catches everything in OTA's

Established players ahead of McNutt include:

DeSean Jackson-58 rec, 961yds
Jeremy Maclin-63 rec, 859yds
Jason Avant- 52rec, 679 yds
Brent Celek- 62 rec, 811yds
LeSean McCoy- 48 rec, 315yds

Cooper has two years experience, and he can barely see the field behind those 5.

I don't think Celek or McCoy will be taking much PT from McNutt.

If I had to guess catches I would say zero but if he can make the special teams units he might get a few in mop up duty

I respectfully disagree. I don't think Marvin has the special teams speed NFL teams are looking for. I think he is fighting for a chance to be slot receiver. I think he will have some catches this year.

Mcnutt was a huge steal....im not sure ill ever forgive my bears
I could care less until they draft a Hawk. It has gotten ridiculous at how much they avoid Iowa especially when they have needs we can fill in the draft. A good example is lineman. They have been old for years and they tend to go through Free Agency with guys in their 30s rather then draft them.

I have a theory.....they wont win a super bowl unless they get a hawkeye....they had one in '85.....come on bears draft one already!! Its like they go out of their way to avoid them....has lovie blackballed Kirk?? If so fire Lovie!! He sucks anyways

I just looked at Coopers' numbers I have to admit I thought he was more productive than that. That being said I am not an Eagles guy, but the few games I caught between Jackson pouting and Maclin being hurt Cooper was involved quite a bit.

I know they want/need a big, physical receiver in the red zone. I would bet money that is what they want out of Mcnutt and /or cooper. I am sure the Eagles have packages with 4 or 5 receiver sets and Mcnutt will be in that mix.

Predicting: 10 to 15 catches and 2 TD(s).

22 catches 3 TDs

They don't have anybody with his size at WR. Their top 3 WRs are all smallish speed guys.

Look at the success of the large body TE such as Jimmy Graham and Gronk, having Marvin in the slot is a mismatch the eagles and qb dog killer #7 can exploit.

Desean Jackson is not a receiver you can count on consistently. He's an explosive player who can change the game in an instant, but he can also decide to just not show up or disappear if he isn't satisfied with the amount of times he's touching the ball. Jeremy Maclin isn't the headache that Jackson is, but he hasn't been real consistent either.

McNutt will be competing for snaps with Cooper and Avant. I think McNutt brings a team first mentality that the Eagles have to love. His hands are as good as anyone's when he's on his A game. If he plays consistently throughout camp, I actually think his inexperience is an advantage compared to Cooper and Avant. Those two have had an opportunity to prove what they can do against NFL competition. They've been solid contributors, especially so with Avant. However, they haven't done anything special. If McNutt can make the coaches believe he has that "it" factor they will be more liable to give him more snaps in order to see what he can do.

The only way he makes the team and actually plays special teams would be on FG defense due to his size. And that is a stretch. I don't think he could add much on kickoffs.

I would guess if he isn't in the WR rotation he would either be on the practice squad or riding some pine and not playing unless there are injuries or guys are winded.

What's your point? Speak oh annoying thread wrecking one.

Are you kidding me? You say that the Iggles need a big receiver, I said they have a big receiver already, and you ask me what my point is?

I could ask you what your point was comparing Marvin in the slot to TE's, especially when the Iggles also have a very good receiving tight end.

I guess my point is that all of your points are patently wrong. Your serve.

i would say they went out and got mcnutt because they arent sold on cooper and really feel they need a big receiver to compliment jackson and maclin. the eagles do use a lot of 3-1-1 sets so him and celek could be utilized a lot like gronk and hernandez though i wouldnt compare the two because we wont ever see mcnutt inline te blocking and i dont think him or celek are anywhere near hernandez speed.
