Marcus Coker is Gone

1. okay what Lineman doesn't have penalties?
1a/2. so did KO, and he's still projected to go late first round, early second.
3. Bryan Bulaga coming out of Iowa, was 314, so is he still Undersized? superbowl ring? doesn't matter he's undersized.

and so what if Wisconsin's line outweighs Green Bays, that means absolutely nothing. what the hell do you want? all 6'5 6'6 350 lbs?

I'm just stating a fact that our O-Line was undersized the past couple seasons. Bulaga is somewhet standard size, and one of the bigger guys on the 2009 team. He's one of the smallest OL on the Pack, one reason they kept him at RT. There were several DL's that outweighed our OL and it showed. Skill only goes so far.

Funny how you guys can come up with ONE guy from different teams that left their program.

This just in....there will only be two transfers of note this year in college football. There will be a large number of namby pamby posters who cry over a kid who broke the rules.

Carr, I am with you. I hate that people keep bringing up other schools and saying that everyone loses players. They are right, lots of schools do lose players. But at Iowa they keep occurring at the same position. That does not happen at other schools.
I would ask anyone on the board defending the player attirtion at RB to cite another example of a school that has lost 7 players at one position in the last 3 years. Good luck.

This is insane. What the hell is going on. Coach Ferentz needs to explain what is happening here. Is Erb the problem here?

FWIW, teams with zone blocking schemes tend to have smaller O-lines.

Not defending just wondering what you expect is going to happen. You break rules or you can't handle being second fiddle so you bail.or nicely asked to move on. Do you want no rules?

You had a kid who was a supposed smart kid who couldn't follow rules. Whose fault is this besides his own. Easy thing here, follow rules and nothing bad will happen to you.

I think Coker got on HN and read all the comments about all the other RB's being better than him and realized how ungrateful HN is and said maybe he'd be more appreciated somewhere else....

I'm sure it can't be done. But I guess I believe that at least a part of the attrition has been due to freakishly bad luck.

Also, there may be some schools out there that would have more attrition at the position if coaches didn't "look the other way" on occasion. Who knows?

Georgia has lost several RB's and there's a good chance they'll lose another who was a 5-star recruit. They also lost a highly recruited QB (Mettenberg) who will likely start for LSU next year. Richt seems to be similar to KF, he doesn't put up with nonsense.

Really doesn't matter who we bring in at RB, whoever starts most games will not be around the following year unless everyone does exactly what I said not too long ago. Give thanks and praise to AIRBHG for him letting us exist along with him. AIRBHG is almighty and should be treated as such. As long as HawkeyeNation complains and makes jokes about the almighty one, we will be punished and rightfully so. Do what's right and pledge allegiance to the AIRBHG!

What did Coker do to break rules? What did Wegher do to break rules? What about Hampton, Brinson, Pugh? The only RBs that are known to have broke rules was Robinson, McCall and Coker. We don't know what rules they broke or what they did (Aside from Robinson).
Maybe the rules are too strict, I don't know. But something has to be done to keep players here. It seemed quite apparent that the football staff didn't agree with Coker's suspension. Maybe, just maybe something needs to change.
Player attrition is what ran Lickliter out of town. Ferentz is heading down that path.
