Manny Rugamba Tweeted

Must not have had a great spring.
He gone.

One does not tweet when daddy ‘Rentz says not to tweet. Unless one is continuing one’s football career at a D-3 school.

Hankins, Ojemudia, and Creamer got it locked down. Already been suspended for team rules shit, borderline two deep guys like that don’t stick around here.

There is a time for music, there is a time to dance.....
I'm not reading anything in to it, because everything has it's time.

Amazing to think he was once ahead of Josh Jackson on the depth chart. Boy have their careers gone in 2 different directions.

It's not too late though. He could still buckle down and get his starting job back.

Like I said, I'm not to worried. YouTube Phil talking about him this spring. He basically said what he needed to see and that it was a 3 way race for full time starter.
I can't imagine anyone after spring ball and half way through summer throwing in the towel, unless something big came up.

what was the tweet? was it welcoming TG to into the family or was it something on purpose to aggravate the staff and create an excuse? without knowing what the tweet was, then you can't even speculate.

No words just a emoji of a clock.
I don't even have Twitter but the thread made me look it up.
Click bait.

I mean it's not 100% certain. Could be a pocket tweet. Jalen Johnson randomly started tweeting one night as well.
Lol, I have stuck mine in my pocket, started walking and been like who the ______ is talking? It's pulled open everything from YouTube to Google maps.
Besides in 2015 they said they would review the policy. I'm not saying they changed it or want anyone on Twitter, because I don't think they do. I just think tweeting an emoji of a clock is a pretty minor thing.
That's like tweeting an emoji of weights when you are at the gym. It has nothing to do with anyone. It has nothing to do with the program or a game. It can't cause any controversy, well except amongst us. But it's the off-season, right now we will argue and speculate about people riding mopeds, the water tower, the color of shoe laces.

Maybe it means he is counting down to the start of camp.
Or counting down until he leaves Iowa in 2 weeks.
The possibilities are endless.

Regardless of the intent, it is interesting. I predicted last season that Rugamba wouldn't be on the roster this season. I still hope I'm wrong, and I sincerely hope he keeps his head on straight and reaches his potential, but he just strikes me as one of those personalities that will flash at times but is in constant danger of losing perspective and making bad choices.

The silver lining is that we have more DB talent in the wings right now than perhaps in the program's history.

Ferentz is pretty hard core about not tweeting. He’d have deleted it by now if it was a butt dial situation.

My suspicion is he’s done at Iowa and is baiting everyone before announcing.

I frequently tweet the clock emoji to show everyone my favorite prize during the final showcase round of The Price is Right: the Grandfather Clock!

You can never have enough veteran talent on a team. Especially with the new LB's with no experience, the veteran DB's need to cover for them, no pun intended.

Every time Iowa runs a nickel or dime package, they are going glad Rugamba stuck around (or sorry he left)

Youngsters can get it done, fear not.

sounds like perhaps you win the kewpie doll.

He's been around plenty long enough to know the seriousness of the no tweeting rule... No chance he thought it'd slip through the cracks if it had anything other than a real meaning to it. Honestly with how he played last yr it's not a huge loss. Hankins was right there with him and might have beat him out anyway. Creamer had cracked the 2 deeps in spring it looked like and as a RS frosh I really liked his pedigree. Ojemudia is still there and hopefully improved so there's no worrying about losing Rugumba from me. That's just for this upcoming season. Going forward we also just recruited a whole slew of highly sought after/rated DBs. I would be sincerely surprised if # 5 was back next yr way more so than if he's not
