Manny Rugamba Tweeted

Since Beyer's tweet was actually an advertisement, it had to be a hijacking of his account. Happens all the time these days

I think if we can get about 6 more pages of what ifs and who done its, we should be able to calm down and wait to find out what it all means. Right now it's just one of those complex unsolved mysteries in life.

Certainly not looking good, but to me the fact that nothing has been confirmed by either Manny himself or the Athletic Department makes me wonder if this all much ado about nothing. Aren't these situations usually cleared up pretty quickly?

Millennials tend to overvalue their importance...when faced with adversity...blame...

No one cares...just the way it is...

What are your thoughts on Rugamba? You don’t normally see hackers post a single emoji.

He’s already been in the dog house with Ferentz before and he’s getting passed by other guys on the depth chart. My money says gone.

The Beyer one was a hack job, I think. Not sure about Rugamba. His doesn’t look like a hack but maybe someone got his phone and he doesn’t know he or she tweeted.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone, though. He was behind OJ and Hankins coming out of spring ball and there are other young CBs that might be making moves.

That's kind of exciting. I mean we already recruited the spot well and are putting guys in the pros, but to have young guys come in and compete right away, means an uptick and a bright future.

Well, schools are like prisons.

Somewhere Roger Waters is smiling.

I kind of wonder if any players are future lawyers. Public university, 1st Amendment, Freedom of Speech, Social Media.

Can they wear cardinal and gold on Saturdays if they want? Of course not. There are reasonable limitations related to being on a team.

Your money would be correct.

This is a good assessment of Rugamba. Maybe he should try WR.

ANSWER: Iowa junior defensive back Manny Rugamba was one of many two-way athletes to make their way to Iowa City. Rugamba was dynamic at wide receiver for Naperville (Ill.) Central, catching 112 passes for 1,615 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior.

Rugamba (5-foot-11, 193 pounds) had his choice for which side of the ball he wanted to play, and he picked defense in 2016. The main factor was both Desmond King and Greg Mabin were seniors that season and Rugamba would compete for a snaps that season and become a starter in 2017. Rugamba worked his way up to third corner in 2016 and was named co-Big Ten freshman of the week honors in a 14-13 upset of No. 3 Michigan. He intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter, broke up another in the fourth quarter and defended a pass in the end zone that prevented a touchdown. He ended up starting the final three regular-season games.

It appeared Rugamba was set to replace Desmond King as Iowa’s next great cornerback. But Rugamba was suspended for the 2017 season opener, suffered a high-ankle sprain in the fourth game and never really recovered. He’s now listed as a second-team cornerback in spring practice.

It’s unlikely at this stage of his career for Rugamba to move to offense. He remains competitive for a starting role this season, and it’s way too early to rule him out. Even if he doesn’t start, he’ll play plenty of snaps as a nickel corner or on special teams. Rugamba probably could do some damage as a receiver, but Iowa was in way worse shape there in 2016, when it it would have made sense to move him there.

Do you have evidence or are you just being Nostradamus?

More than one very credible guys on Rivals have said he is gone. They are tied into the program and are right 95% of the time when they say stuff like that.
