LINEUP CHANGE

Good points made by Herby and others. What is odd and sort of sobering about the status of Iowa hoops is that unlike normal situations, we actually need people to graduate / leave to improve. Normally it's "What are we going to do next year without ________ and _______?" Speaking for myself, I wish we could fast forward to next season now. Safe to say 3-4 incoming recruits could very well be starting next season.

He does not have good quickness. He is very slow side to side. He does jump pretty decent but laterally he is slow for the Big 10. His jumper is below average as well.

Here's my point and I'll leave it at that. White isn't big or strong enough to guard 4's in the Big 10 and isn't quick enough to hang with 3's. He's a classic tweener. And he isn't quick enough to take advantage of when 4's guard him on the peremiter either.

He's not the most talented player on the team and that's absurd to even say. He may be the most surprising b/c from a looks standpoint he doesn't look like he can even dribble. But he has some skills but they aren't elite enough to make up for his weaknesses.

Aaron is 11 for 32 in games we have lost this year. Imagine what he will do when we play even better competition.

Pretty sure I said most potential. Double checking. Yep thats what I said.

Two totally different meanings.

The classic tweener is a short power forward who doesn't have perimeter skills. James Winters would be an example of the classic tweener.

White is a classic combo forward who has both height and perimeter skills and will be able to be effective at both positions depending on matchups.

Guys who are that skinny often take longer to get comfortable and figure out how to be effective.

Having a consistent jump shot would make him a much more effective player overall. Its very common for freshman to struggle with jump shooting, Ogelsby is not hitting consistently either and he is a very good shooter.

To suggest a player won't get better for no apparent reason is whats absurd.

i don't think 3-4 of the freshmen end up starting
at most you will see 2 start Gesell and Woodbury
Ingram is a 2 and will play the 1 as well
May is a 3 or wg
Marble, May/White and Basabe are the middle of the lineup starters
