Lin-sanity continues

Of course he won't take as many shots. He is a point guard, when the teams two leading scorers went down he stepped up and put the team on his back. When they come back he will return to being more of a facilitator.

He doesn't have to be a scorer to be a good player. I have said I doubt he will continue to play like an MVP caliber player but that he is definitely for real. Are you trying to say he isn't?

I will wait a few more games to watch and observe before I anoint him the next great PG. I'm not saying that he's not "for real", but I just think that a 5-game sampling of his abilities, against some pretty weak competition when he's pretty much one of the only options on offense, isn't a WHOLE lot to go off of. We shall see though.

Yes, Carmelo is a black hole on offense, but there is SOME possibility that the amount of time Lin controls the ball will not go down dramatically. D'Antoni loves the pick and roll and he loves to have his point guard dominate possession of the ball, often deep into the shot clock. It's possible that D'Antoni thinks he has another Nash to work with.

I agree. Lin should be a big help to Amare on pick and rolls as that has always been one of Amare's major strengths. They can always iso Melo at the end of the shot clock and let him create if nothing else is there.

Fair enough. Its actually 6 games now when you add in the major minutes he played off the bench while scoring 25 in the game before his first start. I don't buy the weak competition argument people are making at all. With Melo and STAT out the Knicks are less talented than the majority of those teams.

I thought the Lin-tebow comparisons were dumb, then I read this thread.

Why is such a good story so darn polarizing?

So here's a guy that went to Harvard of all places.....went undrafted.....languished in obscurity.....has been given his one shot at glory and has taken full advantage of it. On top of that, he's remained extremely humble and always gives credit to his teammates. What's not to love about that? It's basically "Rocky" on a basketball court.

Oh, and for those pointing out the record of the opponents the Knicks have played.....please tell me what the Knicks' record was before he was inserted in the starting lineup? And that record was BEFORE the two leading scorers on the team went down. It's not like he's playing with Kobe, Lebron, Wade, KG or any other name guy. It's him and a bunch of scrubs. But what's awesome and what I love about team sports is when you get a guy like Lin whose obviously a natural leader and a guy that's easy to play with and go to "war" with, it makes everyone around him better and the team ends up playing WAY above what their individual talent is.

If you don't like this story, then you don't like sports.....PERIOD!!

I think a lot of people are assuming that Lin is being bashed on because that was/is so common with Tebow, but I don't think that's the case. It's just that some of us aren't quite ready to anoint him the next great PG of the NBA. I'd like to see a few more games first. It's a great story though and I only wish him the best. Good luck playing with Melo though.. I would hate to be on his (Melo) team.

I have yet to see anyone say that. Not even Skip Bayless would say that yet.

Hmm.. when somebody is saying that he's playing like an MVP-type player right now, I equate that to great, but that's just me.

He has scored more points his first five starts than anyone in history, second on the list is Shaq. He's been doing this on a team of scrubs considering Melo and Amare have been out.

He may not be an MVP level player like he's been playing at but he is definitely for real.

Really dude? Come on, just because we aren't all down on our knees bowing to Lin means we don't like sports? You're a ******* joke.

i have enjoyed watching lin play. but today i saw a tweet on nfl 32 that i found really good as they were comparing lin-sanity to tebow mania. it said something like..."tebow and lin have 1 thing in common...they are both great at using the bounce pass."

all i know is that is funny. i just got so sick of the tebow stuff. hopefully lin-sanity doesnt go nearly as far and out of hand. so far i can still stand it.

Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love, I don't even want, none of the above I want to pi$$ on you, yes I do.
