Lin-sanity continues

You act as though he won the game entirely by himself, like he just had 4 guys out there with him just watching.. lol.

He's good and I like his story, but I think your hard-on for him may be a bit much, brah. Where's he gonna get his touches once Carmelo the ball hog gets back?

You might want to invest in hooked on phonics bro. Great point about the point guard not getting touches though, makes perfect sense.

30 TOs in 5 games. He starts not shooting so well this is gonna get ugly.

Deron Williams and Russell Westbrook turn it over a lot, also. Yeah, he needs to cut down on the TO(s) when or if he crashes and burns it won't be because of the TO(s).

The Lin to Tebow comparisons don't really make that much sense.

Tebow was a really good college player and went to a football powerhouse.
Lin, I know nothing about his college career though I'm sure he was good but was not one of the best when he played and went to a school that has athletics at a distant second to academics.
Tebow was drafted, Lin wasn't.
Lin plays in a large market, Tebow doesn't.
Lin has had some impressive numbers and Tebow hasn't really.

So the comparison doesn't make much sense.

I do not get the Tebow comparison either.......Kurt Warner, definitely.......Tebow not so much.

Are you suggesting that the starting PG isn't going to get touches? I don't think this makes much sense.

Considering Carmelo commands 20+ shots a night, and the majority of the touches he gets are isolation plays, it does make sense that Lin will not be in a position to score as often.

And to those praising Lin because they have won five straight- the Knicks' combined opponents record in that stretch is 60-85. The only good team they played (LA) was coming off an emotional, overtime road victory in Boston the night before.

Linsanity is a great story, it really is lincredible. But I have a hard time believing it is going to last much longer.

Hooked on phonics? Lol.. okay, brah.

My bad, replace *touches* with *opportunities/shots*. You really think he's going to have as much opportunity to score once Carmelo gets back? I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself.

My prediction is that Lin will come back down to earth soon and you'll look like an idiot.

Thanks Tskinner, or should I say Sherlock, for stating the obvious. Yes, believe it or not, when Melo comes back, his oppotunities/shots should/will decrease. You may ask why, well because Melo is the biggest ball stopper, ball hog in the league.

Lin is playing good right now, but what we are saying is that his "hype train" will slow down when he isn't scoring over 20pts a game each game. His assists should still be there because Melo can knock down a few shots, and that will also open things up for Amare, but his ppg will take a nose dive. He will no longer be option #1.

Are you joking? You would have a point if he didn't go 5-0. Since he is undefeated that's complete nonsense. They were 9-14 BEFORE Lin for crying out loud. Do you realize he went for 27 points tonight including the winning shot at the buzzer?

Come on man! Even someone who's Basketball IQ falls in the special Olympic Range knows that's for real!

Is this you??

He won't be a hall of famer or anything like that but I'd say he can be a very serviceable, good NBA player. Especially if he is playing for a coach like Dantonio who is known for point guard development and use.

Cool, I didn't know that Nostradamus posted on here. :D

Actually I am not offended at all by being called Asian. Is that why you refuse to acknowledge Lin is even "for real," because you are racist? Makes perfect sense.

You never answered my question- how do you expect Lin to keep getting as many opportunities (shots) once Carmelo gets back? Can you explain that, genius? Or is Lin going to be the #1 option since he's "for real" after just 5 games?

Of course he won't take as many shots. He is a point guard, when the teams two leading scorers went down he stepped up and put the team on his back. When they come back he will return to being more of a facilitator.

He doesn't have to be a scorer to be a good player. I have said I doubt he will continue to play like an MVP caliber player but that he is definitely for real. Are you trying to say he isn't?

Yes, Carmelo is a black hole on offense, but there is SOME possibility that the amount of time Lin controls the ball will not go down dramatically. D'Antoni loves the pick and roll and he loves to have his point guard dominate possession of the ball, often deep into the shot clock. It's possible that D'Antoni thinks he has another Nash to work with.

I'm not a racist at all actually, but you can keep trying to stick that to me, I have thick skin.

I refuse to acknowledge that he is "for real" right now, because he has only been "for real" for 5 games. And during those 5 games, who has he faced that can actually guard anyone?

Toronto (9-21) - Jose Calderon, Anthony Carter, and Jerryd Bayless. Not one good defensive player.
Minnesota (13-16) - Ricky Rubio is not a "defensive specialist"
Lakers (17-12) - Derek Fisher is almost 87 years old
Washington (7-22) - John Wall, see Ricky Rubio
Utah (14-14) - Devin Harris, Earl Watson, and Jamaal Tinsley. Harris is a scorer, defense is not his specialty.

If you'll also notice the records of the teams that I have listed, the only team above .500 is a Laker team that is TERRIBLE on the road and their PG, like I mentioned above, is about 87 years old.
