Lickliter resigning

If this resignation is true, and it is true that it is for health reasons - best wishes to Lickliter and hopefully he is well. There are more important things than basketball.

If the "health reasons" are a cover story, then I still respect Lickliter for stepping down rather than forcing a buyout, or continuing to drag the program down.

I have nothing at all against Lickliter as a person. Never have. I just have felt for a while now that he was in over his head in the Big Ten.

That said - I REALLY hope Gary Barta has something in the works already for a good coach, and we don't end up hiring a last-resort type of guy.

Where ever he ends up I will root for his team. He could have said he wanted the buyout and not resign and I have a lot of respect for him for that.

Just a thought, but it might be better for the program if the University had the first opportunity to talk to recruits about this rather than anyone looking for news.

I don't think Ghost is that bad. Maybe he has an attitude a bit like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, but he generally is a pretty rational poster.

Shouldn't hate on the guy for waiting to pass judgment until rumors are substantiated. From what I have read, the jist of his posts is simply "maybe we should wait for better information" with a little bit of sarcasm mixed in.
