From what someone else posted, if he resigns he would have to pay the school. I'm betting they reached a mutual agreement though or the fact that it is health related he doesnt have to pay.

This likely would be a settlement outside of his contract (or there could be a health clause in the contract, as well).
Luckily for him this isn't really a resignation. He's being forced out and is is going the resignation route to save dignity and be able to still get paid. He will leave with more money as opposed to paying Iowa money. That will prove all of this to be true.

Sorry. I am sure the source-less, anonymous post on some radio station's facebook page is certainly worthy to take seriosuly.
I mean after all, look at their facebook page, just before they broke this story, they also told us "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to headline Coralville 4th Fest on July 3rd", so you know they bring the hard news.

If this is true, I hope Lickliter is well and stays well but I wonder if that isn't also a cover for a "forced resignation"? But if we do need to find a new coach we CANNOT get another mid-major coach!! Iowa isn't going to get a "big-name" coach but we do need to find someone that has experienced recruiting ties, an experienced staff and uptempo style.
Some of the players may transfer either way but I truly believe we get an exciting coach with charisma and uptempo style, the players are excited and STAY at Iowa.

Look, if it is true that the players went to Barta they obviously want to be Hawks and love the school. They just couldn't stand the coach.
