LaBron - My life is better than yours.

I really don't think so. I have seen too many people in my life try to throw some perceived advantage in other's face when they end up on the wrong side of an argument.

It just seems like a version of an ad hominem argument when you attack the person making the argument instead of their actual argument. Why else would the lives of people that were rooting against LaBron matter?

What argument?

I liked Lebron James' response. Stop hating and get a damned life. Almost no one is celebrating Dallas' championship, but instead celebrating one players' failure. It is just nationwide schadenfreude that I am honestly uncomfortable with. I was pulling for Dallas in that series, like most of you, but now it seems like no one cares about the hero because the villian is gone.

Absolutely he was giving the middle finger to all those schmucks who took time out of thier prole existence to cheer against him. I don't feel sorry for him at all, but I also don't begrudge him for anything. Good for him for saying what he said, he's absolutely right.

I also had no problem with Lebron's response. Perhaps he should not have said anything, but I also would have a tough time holding back because I'm fed up with haters in general. I think what Lebron is simply saying is that, while disappointed in the outcome of the series, he is happy with who he is(and despite clumsy PR he does seem to be a good guy) and all the haters will still be miserable haters when they wake up tomorrow and the next day. I certainly understand the way he feels.

I was definitely rooting for Dallas because they are very likable and I wanted to see Dirk, et al get a ring. I wasn't really rooting against Miami.

Here was the whole quote and, yes, most people took it poorly.

Question: Does it bother you that so many people are happy to see you fail?

LeBron: "Absolutely not. Because at the end of the day all the people that was rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day they've got to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They've got the same personal problems they had today. And I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things I want to do with my family and be happy with that."

This is absolutely the correct answer to that question. It's even more correct when you look at the questions leading up this one...

James didn't say - My life is better than yours. The title infers that is what he said. I guess you must be a mind reader. Where is the Dow Jones going to close today?

Sorry, but it is NOT the right answer. The right answer is, "Well, they have scoreboard right now. We will just have to get back at it and make the necessary changes in our game so that next year, they won't have anything to celebrate."

Not, they have problems and I live a happy life. Saying that after losing the finals is a loser attitude. The dude put himself on a pedalstal with his antics and predictions and he got knocked off.

Bosh dealt with everything with way more maturity and the right attitude. You could tell he was ready to start working tomorrow.

But look at LaBron's statements more closely. We too many I's and not nearly enough We's. He actually said "I got 2 more games this time than last time."

His PR people have done some stuff really well. But they also set him up for everything that is coming at him now.

I liked this tweet.

Sitting in LeBron's presser last night was like listening to a bad best man's speech - just wanted someone, anyone to make it stop

Lebron set himself up for this 11 months ago by being an a** on national tv. He will always now be more hated than liked. I hate the steelers more than any other team being a browns fan and can direct all that energy at Rape-lesberger. I look forward to cheering against Lebron for many years and yes today, my life does feel better that Lebron lost. I will feel better all year until he loses again.

The thing is, LeBron has sick athleticism and has the tools to be one of the greatest players of all-time. One of the greatest (not THE greatest). However, he has major head problems and an inflated ego. Again, I realize Jordan had an ego and was d*ck at times, but he still went about his business the right way.

A lot of LeBron's answers in the post game were "me" answers. And for a 26 yr old, he looks like he's in his mid-30s. He's aged so much this last year, at least the wear on him makes him look aged. If only he got some wisdom from that aging...

The thing that gets me is even if Lebron did mean it as a shot at his critics (which I don't think he did) why should it matter. Most people hate him now because of decisions he's made regarding how he was to handle his free agency and "the decision" and nothing has to do with the way he plays ball. Everybody's been taking their shots at him at year so if that was how he truly felt, then why should it bother people?
Everyone talking about how the way he left Cleveland was such a classless act and they lost all respect for him, but then continue to bash him all season and celebrate when he loses to me seems hypocrital. Regardless of whether he had made his mind up prior to "the decision" or not, he still played out his contract in Cleveland for 7 years and did more for that franchise than anyone could ever imagine. I just don't see why it's a character flaw on his part that he wanted to play among other superstars to win a championship, because obviously he didn't think he could do it on his own.

Michael didn't go about thinks the right way and had an even worse ego.....but he produced when it mattered most. You do that and nobody cares that you are a jerk b/c you back it up.

Look at Jason Terry, he would have been a joke for years to come if he wouldn't have produced after getting the tatoo, talking **** about Lebron not guarding him, etc. He produced and now people respect him

It bothers me that my 9 year old son and his friends loved all the hype Lebron and Co. brought to the NBA. They became Heat fans. So yes, I wanted the Heat to lose, and the fact that Lebron was terrible in the 4th quarter was great. And my son finally got it. I used his post-game interview to show my son why he lost. Too many I’s and worrying about people not liking him. He should have said the past is the past; we need to focus on what went wrong, getting back in the gym, and taking that next step. Instead, he basically says
“my life is better than yours.” Maybe one day he’ll get it, but as of right now he doesn’t. I know NBA players are not “role models” so he holds no obligation to fans, but he does owe an obligation to his team, so he better start focusing on finishing games, and stop taking shots at people who don’t like him.

Even if Terry would have failed, it wouldn't make him a joke. He's a secondary option who thinks he is better than he really is and can get hot at any time, that makes him no different than about 50 other NBA players, for the Mavs it was always going to be Dirk who was judged on whether his team won or loss this series.

LeBron is hated by people, lots of people, just because he's arrogant and rubs people the wrong way. He's never been arrested, he's not a thug, he just comes off as not being connected to reality sometimes. He's also held to an almost impossible standard. People expect him to be the greatest of all time and if he doesn't live up to that, he gets criticized.

Wade was terrible last night and had a really bad Chicago series, yet he doesn't get 1/10th of the criticism LeBron does. If LeBron wins two titles in the next few years, that's a great accomplishment, but his career would still be a let down to a lot of people.

Maybe in today's social media driven world, people would have seen MJ as a jerk, but I think he did a pretty good job with the media, and saying the right things. The biggest difference between Lebron and MJ is killer instinct.

Jason Terry isn't a big enough star for people to worry about. If the Mavs would have lost, few people would even know or care about his tatoo.

you are nuts if you think Terry hasnt had a huge impact on the last several years of Mavs success. he is a fine player.
