LaBron - My life is better than yours.

I also had no problem with Lebron's response. Perhaps he should not have said anything, but I also would have a tough time holding back because I'm fed up with haters in general. I think what Lebron is simply saying is that, while disappointed in the outcome of the series, he is happy with who he is(and despite clumsy PR he does seem to be a good guy) and all the haters will still be miserable haters when they wake up tomorrow and the next day. I certainly understand the way he feels.

I was definitely rooting for Dallas because they are very likable and I wanted to see Dirk, et al get a ring. I wasn't really rooting against Miami.

Well said and I agree completely. The haters have come out of the woodwork since LeBron and Co. have failed but if Miami were to turn around and win the championship next year, 90% of those same flamers will be all over LeBron's jock calling him the greatest ever.

I've been a Dallas (Nowitzki in particular) fan for years and I think calling him one of the top 10 players ever is silly. Don't get me wrong, what he has done in the playoffs this year was amazing but the media tends to blow everything out of proportion.

Maybe in today's social media driven world, people would have seen MJ as a jerk, but I think he did a pretty good job with the media, and saying the right things. The biggest difference between Lebron and MJ is killer instinct.

Jason Terry isn't a big enough star for people to worry about. If the Mavs would have lost, few people would even know or care about his tatoo.

If MJ played in today's age, he would have image problems as well. The media loved Michael, corporate America loved Michael, and David Stern loved Michael.

All three of them knew they had a cash cow in Michael and worked their collective ***** to keep him squeaky clean. It was much easier to contain a story when information was not easily or rapidly spread.

If Tiger Woods played in the 80's-90's, he would have never had the problems he has now. Like Tiger, Michael had a penchant for sticking it to anything that breathed, and unlike Tiger, had a huge gambling problem. If Michael played today, TMZ and Deadspin would eat his *** for breakfast.

Apparently when Michael Jordan played, there was no press, no cameras, no recording devices, etc... I think he shot the ball into peach baskets too...

Don't give me that crap. Unless you're a teenager, you know the media landscape was much different back them than it is now. You know damned well that in the 80's we didn't know anything about athlete's private lives unless they wanted us to. It was much easier for athletes to control their own image back then.

I am just glad my take has been confirmed by just about every major sports outlet in the nation.

I got scoreboard over Duff like the haters have scoreboard over LaBron.

I'm shocked at how unbelievably pathetic so many of the haters are. A professional athlete takes less money in exchange for the shot of winning championships, and suddenly he's public enemy #1? Complete f'ing BS. We ***** and moan incessantly about how money hungry pro athletes are, yet when arguably the biggest superstar in a professional sports league takes less money for a chance at titles, now we're ****** at him? F that. Not to mention, LeBron's correct - all the haters' lives are suddenly better b/c he lost? The epitome of losers.

And I don't believe any people look more pathetic than Clevelanders / Ohioans. They're the person that got dumped by their significant other and are still bitter and bitchy a year later, wishing their ex ill will...when their ex did nothing wrong! Didn't cheat, sleep around, talk a ton of smack about them, etc...just told them they didn't want to be together anymore. The haters are just classless and pathetic, plain and simple.

Let's work your analogy a bit more.

Say you are a spouse. You work your butt off trying to make your spouse happy. She tells you what she wants and needs, you get her everything. She still keeps looking around at other dudes and comparing you to them and sometimes not favorably. You ask her to tell you if she is going to leave so you can start preparing. She says, "No honey, I just need to keep looking around just in case something goes wrong, but we are good." This is significant to you because you have turned down other women and financial opportunities for her.

Then, without telling you what is up, she holds a news conference announcing her new boyfriend and making you look like a complete idiot. Then two days later, they throw a huge party with her rubbing up against him like a poll dancer.

You do your best to move on as people are climbing all over themselves to fawn over the new couple as you think, "you know, if you could have just been more honest, I could have protected myself financially and emotionally, but your selfish self-centered behavior really negatively impacted me and my financial interests.

Also, if you didn't rub it in my face, I wouldn't look like an ***.

Then, less than a year later, the couple falls flat on their face and just about everyone is criticising your ex.

Seriously, you don't think that is cause for at least a little glee? Really?

Ha what a terrible analogy. Losing in the Finals isn't falling on your face, setting the record for consecutive losses is falling on your face.

Having the biggest drop-off in points from regular season to conference finals in history and scoring an average of 3 points in the fourth quarter is falling on your face when you are supposed to be the "King."

Plus he had an astounding minus number of 24.

Crash and burn.

I understand what you are saying. I think most of the backlash comes from "The Decision". Not that Cavs fans would not have been ****** either way but that just put a little bit more salt in the wound.

And I think the majority of people, myself included, think that Lebron purposely took the easy way out and joined forces with Wade and Bosh because he was worried that he would never win a championship without another superstar to help him out.

Then the big ceremony they had in Miami with Bosh, James and Wade. Leborn's talk of 7 titles. Wade complaining at a postgame presser during the season saying the world is happy now because the Heat are losing. Spoelstra saying they had guys in the locker room crying after a regular season loss. The ridiculous on court celebrations after winning a conference semi-final and conference final playoff series. Mocking Dirk after Game 4 of the Finals. Then the comment after the Heat lost about people having to go back to their own problems. Its fairly easy to see why there are so many Heat/Lebron haters.

My buddy said he heard this on Mike and Mike, If LeBron wanted a championship ring he should of stayed in Cleveland and bought one from Pryor. Oh Snap!

Actually, my problem is the same problem I have with the Flop Five. None of those guys has won a championship above the high school level, but they walk around like they are royalty.

I am cool with Wade, because he won. I am okay with Bosh, because he knows the work is still to be done. But Lebron is a totally different story.

Mike Miller made a final four while at Florida I believe. Mario Chalmers won an NCAA title and made some big shots for Kansas. Haslem won an NBA title with the Heat in 2006. Eddie House won a title with the Celtics in 2008. Mike Bibby won an NCAA title with Arizona in the 90's.

It sounds like you should just have a Lebron problem, which is fine.

Eddie House winning a ring is almost as insignificant as Brian Cardinal winning one.

But both have more rings than BronBron.

I know. CAAR just made it sound like that nobody on the Heat had ever won anything, which wasnt true. Lebron is about the only won that hasnt won anything past the high school level. And I enjoyed watching Cardinal this series.

In my best Mark Jackson voice: "Mama, theres goes that man again, the Custodian doing work in these finals again. Sliding over and taking the charge on D-Wade then down on the offensive end the kick out to Dirk who is on point from 3"

You say later in this post that your REAL problem with the Heat is the pre-season celebration and their antics, and all that. I kind of get that, I guess, although I really can't get myself to care about what athletes do off the court or how they celebrate.

However, I lost a ton of respect for Lebron James because of his performance on the court, which I usually enjoy watching. You are absolutely right, a guy who named himself "King", with "Chosen One" inked on his skin, shouldn't fall apart like that. It pisses me off as a basketball fan.
