Kirk Ferentz on Falling Short in B1G West Again

No. Dumb statement. Over recent times, OSU has been the dominate team in the BT. Everyone else is chasing them, unsuccessfully. If you don’t see this clear picture, you should stop posting, since you know nothing about football and are adding nothing to the conversation. Thanks! Also, do not forget to renew your Team Caddy membership on November 15th.
You don’t even know what you are defending you are so blind to everything. There is a world going on around you but you aren’t even aware of it. Ohio st has zero to do with my statement. I’m talking nationally. It’s there where the b10w is a joke. And it has zero to do with Ohio st

I’m not a fan of anyone named ferentz so I’m several yrs ahead of you. You’ll catch up some day.
If you think you can single handedly remove him from office, or drum up enough of a hate campaign to get him ousted, than knock yourself out.

He needed to move on or to the NFL after 2004. Or definitely after 2009. Like Lute did, or Bert tried to do at Wisconsin. I am not a fan of a football or basketball head coach staying in one place decades at a time and becoming an emperor. At Iowa, it won't work. You have cold winters, a relatively low population base, boosters hovering over everything like vultures making sure it's done "the Iowa Way". The last third of Hayden's Iowa career was saved by two local once per generation talents coming in at the same time. Kirk during the last half of his career has had one loud bang surrounded by sticking to a tried and true formula with the occasional eye opener. This I can agree with. Davis stayed here too long, started to lose interest in recruiting in state talent that Lute and Ralph Miller could have only dreamed about.

Would you agree that Iowa should not be a destination job? But that a hot up and comer can give us intermittent four to six year spurts of legit star power? That was basically Iowa basketball from 1956-89.

You're wasting your time.

@HuckFinn should be named CuckFinn. He got a football autographed at an I-Club event once (said it was for his grandkid, how creepy is that?) and Kirk told him he liked his Izod polo; ever since then he loves to tell us what a great dude and football coach he and his son are.

I'd say the LBs are the weak spot of the D. But you're right PJ will have a game plan specifically to attack Iowa. Kirk will do exactly what you said, try to establish the run even though Iowa isn't good at it & Minnesota has weak spots in their secondary that he'll ignore.

MN has weak spots all over their entire Defense, gave up 500 yards, don't crown their asses. Couple bad penalty calls (or non calls) at the end of the game and PSU likely wins that one.

We didn't give up 500 to PSU, not even close. Will BF take advantage, probably not, therein lies the problem.

Either way they played head up with PSU which is a hell of a lot better than I thought they would. Their QB/WRs are second in the B1G to Ohio St. They made PSU look slow on D. Their OL dominated the PSU's DL. Iowa's D will have to play their best game of the season by far to keep this close.

And in terms of in game coaching they are light years ahead of Iowa.

"It's hard to do."

Huh, Kirk. Northwestern did it. Wisconsin keeps doing it. Minnesota is doing it this year. Apparently it's not THAT hard to do...

If this is Kirk Ferentz's attitude and demeanor then its time for him to go. Period. I am tired of this same old lack luster, laid back, don't care if we win or lose attitude.

It would be nice to see the old Kirk back from the early 2000's, but that is not going to happen.

It’s not my job to remove him. It’s not my job to do anything. But I’ll call a spade a spade. And I don’t live in a fantasy world or in denial like so many. Just because the administration at iowa and state media is so incredibly weak is the only reason he’s here. And it’s an embarrassment for alums and taxpayers not to mention fans. To have such low expectations and allow the nepotism and domination of a program for this long is unhealthy for all involved. And the nfl talk is so inflated it isn’t even funny. To really think he’d last one game or one press conference as an nfl coach is laughable

Me thinks him and bv are father and son. Notice how quiet son has been lately

ROFLMAO!!!

“Barta, Barta, removest thy sneakers for the ground thou standest on is holy ground.”

Sorry Kirk about stepping into your house without removing my shoes. Now we need a signature on this new extension and pay increase.

I don't put much credit to the thought that Iowa has a chance to win the West.

Iowa would have to win their 3 remaining games. Minnesota, Illinois, Nebraska

Minnesota would have to lose their three remaining games. Iowa, Northwestern, Wisconsin

Wisconsin would have to lose 2 of their three remaining games. Nebraska, Purdue, Minnesota

The only math that counts is at his bank.

Does that make you and karras brothers due to both of you having unhealthy obsessions with others?
I could care less about you. I think you are a complete moron to tell you the truth. I just found it ironic how much you love running your mouth around here, defending the dynamic duo, how quiet you have been after yet another classic ferentz tailspin. And how your big mouth will come right back out as soon as he feasts back on lowly Nebraska or pulls off an occasional stunner against Minnesota or someone before flopping against Illinois. It’s kirk at his best. Just so tired of the whole predictable act annually. And then the corncobs that come running in to defend him. It’s comical yet sad

Ok boomer

Thanks Rob for sharing Kirk’s comments. It refreshing to see a sports media person being courageous enough to point out comments that any sports media person would know is going to stir up a lot of frustration with the head coaches flippant comment. “Whelp that’s football!!!” These offensive woes are not one bad game, they have become a strong trend.

I was also appreciative to hear your comment at the beginning of the year of how this is Brian’s third year as the offensive coordinator and that that was long enough for a coach to instill his coaching philosophy. That it is time for Brian’s offense to perform. Well things have not planned out to well for Brian’s offense thus far.

I think it’s pathetically sad this whole thing with Dolph’s hot mike incident. That in Iowa sports news, persons are feeling bullied by coaches and University heads to the point that they can’t offer honest objectionable analysis of sports programs and the glaring weaknesses in coaching or recruiting.

I want to hear the damn truth not just what the powers that be want us to believe. The damn truth from sports analysts that have spent most of their adult lives in this profession. What the hell is this Russia??? China???
