Kicking Game Worries No One Talking About It????

Kirk did say the kickers have performed considerably better from their open practice performances.

I agree the kicking game is important, but, in my mind if we are in and out of close games secondary to kicking issues, we really have other issues than just at kicker. We shouldn't be in that position in the first place if the D is strong and with a good running game. Now punter, that an important part of the game as that can dictate field position & pinning teams within the 20. That might be even more important.

That's a relief. Now, to just get the opponent to agree to no rush, the fans to agree to get super quiet and the refs to agree to as many do-overs as needed, it's all good. Maybe they can just attempt all PAT's and FG's at the practice field (or inside the bubble during inclement weather) and you-tube the makes over to Kinnick?

Who needs a kicking game. We have momentum.
Now that we have Mangino and Lazard, there is no need for a kicker. Sam is healthy now, and basically a hybrid of Tom Brady and RGIII, so we can probably just go for two after we score every drive......wait am I on the right board?

Let Ellis kick the FGs. He's young, so I give him that first miss. All the scouting reports coming in say he's the real deal. He's just green.

Use Koehn on kickoffs and perhaps long FG, he has the leg.

Worst place kicking so far that I have seen in 47 years of following Iowa football.

I like how deep they are getting on the kick offs this year. If I am not mistaken all but 1 kick at least made it to the goal line this season. Maybe two of them.

What makes it worse is after both our guys miss Ball State's kid gets ran out there for a couple 53 yarders. How is it possible that we recruit someone who shanks a 29 yarder that slices like my driver after a 6 pack?

I said our kicking game was bad last week and people wanted to lynch me. It is easy to say it now but I saw this coming. A big leg is good for kick offs only you must be able to hit 30+ yd fgs.

Not a matter of if we'll lose a winnable game because of the overall kicking game.

It's when.

And probably multiple times.

would open tryouts on campus be the worst thing in the world right now? who cares if a guy can't kick more than a 40 yarder as long as he hits with some consistency

I have never seen chip shot FG's missed so badly by Iowa until today.

Didn't one of them curl off and get shot into the Papa John's pizza stand?

All I can say is "FOUR"!!!!!!!! You people in the end zones better keep your eyes on the game, you could get wholloped.
