Kaylon Williams

I'm hearing that there may be a couple of players, at Kirkwood JC, in CR, with a very good team there that may be with the Hawkeyes, next season.

Stay tuned.

:)

Kaylon would be a big addition to next year's team, imo. Who else on Kirkwood might come on board? Thanks for the update.

I have heard a few rumblings of a transfer in. Don't know if it would come from a juco or not, or if there is even anything to it.

It would be interesting to know where you are hearing this cause I have heard some talk about this.

Hooper; Yeah, I'll clue you in a bit. In the meantime, maybe ask Masoncityhawk, since he seems to have direct access to the all knowing, Ever. But then again, masoncity didn't think Ali Farokmenash would ever play at UNI, either.

I watched Kaylon play a few times his senior year of High School... He is alright but hardly a difference maker if he transfers in.

I would not say he will be a big addition. He kind of reminds me of Tucker actually, in terms of athletic ability. Tucker is a better shooter and a tad thicker than Kaylon.

going after Kaylon Williams is a desperation attempt. Hold on to Freeman, Kelly and Peterson and we don't have this problem.

Can anyone else confirm or agree with that assessment? Doesn't make me giddy if he's the same athlete, but worse shooter than a lot of posters think is the most lazy player at Iowa

Just wanted to point out that if Kaylon, or somebody else, did transfer in. Then somebody has to transfer out. Iowa is full next year on scholly's.

Kaylon Williams reminds me nothing of Tucker. He is a lot more Tony Freeman than Tucker.
he isn't going to turn the program around but he can add instant help and depth.

He led the Valley in assists last year as a freshman.

Bingo. That is why, I believe, he should have been added to roster now, not later. But hey, we've got such a brain-trust there and have for several years now, going back to when TD left, that why would you question a thing about ia hoops?

That was from this past summer spank. You should check with one of your sources instead of using an old story from June 29th. The Iowa staff is definitely looking to add a point guard this spring and Kaylon is of the prospects they are evaluating. I hope they can find someone better than Kaylon as the team needs a big upgrade at point.

I agree. Like I said earlier, Kaylon is not going to TURN Iowa around, yes he would add depth which I guess at this point would help. He however is not some complete stud which I get the feeling some posters are trying to indicate.

I watched him play in High School and I thought the Valley was the perfect conference for him to succeed in. He however left the Valley for some reason?

He doesn't do anything tremendously well, he is going to be a Big 10 role player in my opinion.

Kaylon reminds me of both Tucker and Freeman maybe. Kaylon is about 6"4 so Tucker's size, but Tucker is a bit thicker than Kaylon the last I say Kaylon. Kaylon is not a super explosize guy kind of like Tucker. They are not above the rim players, Eric May is the only above the rim player at Iowa currently. That is why Kaylon reminds me of Tucker, decent player but he is not a world beater. I watched Kaylon go against Grant Gibbs (now at Gonzaga) in high school, and Kaylon was not able to beat him off the dribble really much at all. Kaylon did a lot of moves but really did not consistently just blow by Gibbs. Trust me there are guards and wings in the Big 10 who are WAY better than Grant Gibbs.

Tucker is a better shooter than Kaylon in my opinion. I know Kaylon cut some tendons in his wrist back in High School but I did not think he was a pure shooter. Kaylon doesn't have much ball rotation when he shoots. Tucker has an odd shot too, Tucker shoots a set shot pretty much.

I think Kaylon would be a good guy to add for depth reasons, however he is not the SOLUTION to Iowa's point guard/perimeter player who can get to the hole issue. Maybe he and Payne splitting time would be serviceable.
