I'm normally not this forgiving to "dumbassery", but in this case I'm not going to judge his circumstances. Sounds like the kid has had it rough, and the environment at Iowa might be just what he needs.

I don't think you're being unfair but I see another Derrick Willies project that goes bad. I think when Kirk was new he didn't mind being a surrogate father. But I think those days are over with. When you arrive at Iowa Kirk will be demanding and kids without decent mentors will find themselves in the doghouse quick. Look at how many kids transfer each off-season becuz their "needs" aren't being met.

IMO, in cases like Willies, and possibly Juan, it has very little to do with KF, and more to do with the young man. I have no doubt there's a "doghouse" for most coaches, I don't believe KF's comes in to play as much as many believe.

I very well could be wrong. We all know KF is stubborn.
