Jok

Yes, yes, OGs wasn't playing, but, once B1G started:

4 mins vs Nebby
0 mins vs Wisky

I don't think OGs is taking all of his minutes.

From 14.5 mins/game before B1G to two.

Any thoughts as to what's going on?

Added: Actually, PJ didn't get many minutes against ISU, ND or Nova. Maybe it's the "he's not ready for the big time" syndrome?

Here are his stats against teams with a pulse:

38 mins played (played in 5 of the games)
3-19 from the field
3-13 from 3
3-4 from the line
2 rebounds
1 assist
1 block
0 steals
3 TOs

His time should be limited for now

Ogs is the more experienced player and its tough to go 11 deep. Jok will follow Gabe’s path and play in games where the outcome is never in doubt his frosh year.

We could have used his 3/4 FTs tonight.

I understand his time should be limited but I'm at a point of giving him a shot and taking some minutes from Ogelsby. In 2 conference games he had 1 really nice assist. And yes maybe he's a better defender than Pete but not by much. He's not this great defender some of you want to make him out to be and Pete has much higher upside on O because he's not a one trick pony who can't even get a 3 point attempt up because the other teams know he's no threat to drive.

He is very raw. Kinda reminds me of Dev when he was a FR. He just isn't ready. He can get some limited minutes here and there, but the problem is that he's used to being "the man" so when he comes into the game he wants to play like "the man." When he does he takes ill advised shots, makes unforced turnovers, and is way too aggressive offensively, not to mention semi clueless on defense.

1 day he will be the man. I can see him taking Dev's spot as our #1 scorer, but he isn't there now.

I would rather live with Jok and his learning curve mistake than watch OG's lumber around and get nothing done.

Honestly, i would like to see a 9 man rotation. Give Jok or OG's the 10th man minutes if need be

Jok got worked in the isu game. He is not ready for more minutes against this competition.

I think he should be given a couple minute heat check in the first half. It's not like it takes him very long to get a shot up. If he's making them let him play more. I would say the same for ogs but he can't get shots off.

He is a bust, average by his junior year at best. Look at every other ranked teams... they have solid freshman that contribute. That is why the rich get richer, recruiting. Why can't Fran find these guys?!

PJ will see more minutes once he improves his defense and becomes a better passer. Until then he will see limited minutes at best.

PJ is not the talent some here think he is. He will become a good/very good player as he matures but he is a liability to the team right now.

Iowa isn't running a 10 or 11 man rotation as people think. We play 10 or 11 in the 1st half and in the second half if it is tight we tighten to an 8 or 9 man rotation. Depending on fouls and who is playing well.

You guys realize playing 11 guys is not a good thing. For every minute those 9th, 10th and 11th best players play, takes away minutes from three of the top 5 players.

Jok is a shoot first, shoot second and then possibly think about shooting again before he passes player. Problem is that he's not experienced enough to be bombing shots when he's on the floor. He will get there, just not this year.

I think allot of people had their minds made up that he was a great player well before he played a game.

Reminds me of Brandon whegher that way.
