They held a team that was averaging close to 100 to 66, some sort of D must have been playedNever gonna happen. This team is no D. Gotta outscore if gonna win.
kineso tapeWhat‘s up with the bandages on Payton Sandfort shoulders?
BS. Again.Wazzou is way more athletic than IA
Ha ha haI'm here .... Have NO CLUE why OF sat 9 mins! Bad lineups by Fran and no TOS to keep game under control.
All that and bottom line - they're all shooting like shit, missing free throws and, as always, can't defend.
Unfortunately, this is Iowa vs bigger, very athletic teams.
My eyes saw that 66 points was more so due to a really bad shooting night than Iowa defense. Par for course, Hawks were carved up by drives. Surprised WSU didn't use more size inside but realized they're bigs are more long, face-up 3's than back-to-basket, physical 5's or could've caused some foul problems for Ladj, Seyd and Owen. They held a team that was averaging close to 100 to 66, some sort of D must have been played
Lord knows I know that. Iowa hasn’t been a good defensive team and the way their put together likely never will be and it’s clearly by design of our coach. That said, it was Iowa who had the bad shooting night and they held a team close to 30 pts under their season average. I can’t sit here and state they played no defense or act like it was a glaring issue last night. It wasn’tMy eyes saw that 66 points was more so due to a really bad shooting night than Iowa defense. Look, Good - I'm not trying to detract from a really entertaining, solid W. Hawks made their shots and throws when it really mattered. However, I get and accept they are who they are when it comes to how they're gonna win games - and it ain't gonna be due to locking down the other team.
Iowa's best "defense" is keeping opponents on the perimeter and banking on poor shooting. By default, it means they have to focus on outscoring than defending. Fortunately, this year, I feel like they are more capable of executing the strategy because their athleticism and shooting / scoring capability is as deep as we've seen in several seasons.
