John Raymon to Iowa Western

We know Nebraska is out of the running, and youd have to think choosing Ia Western cant be a bad thing.

Ah thanks for the clarification. That would be great.

Raymon does not need the degree but he does need credit hours to make him eligible. Not sure what that number may be. I assume he has 0 from Iowa and not sure what he did this Spring. I think he will need something like 40 hours or more to play in 2013.

Saw this on Twitter last night and got pretty excited. In my view, it's pretty obvious where this is headed. See you in 2013 JR!

Just read something over on TOS stating that the Iowa coaches don't sound too interested in bringing him back. Of course I'm sure a solid year at IWCC could change their mind fairly quickly.

they have had a several month preview of this person. i'm thinking A LOT would have to change to change their minds (if they aren't too interested in bringing him back), beyond football success at a CC.

If the coaches legitimately don't want him because of skill, then that's their choice. However, if they won't welcome a good player back because they feel like a scorned lover, well, that's horsesh*t in my opinion. He left mostly because Kaz was a doosh.

If I remember right, something came out around the time JR said that he kind of wished he wouldn't have left because Kaz ended up leaving, I dont know if it was straight from coaches or second hand that they had moved on from JR but I am assuming this would change if he goes to IWCC and impresses them.

Exactly, I had heard the same thing.

scorned lover? no, i doubt that would be the reason.

they know what he is about. what his makeup is. his personality. his work ethic, his character, etc., etc.

perhaps some of the above is why they wouldn't be excited to have him back, if the other post was legit.

get my drift here?

Agreed, If we've got someone better to give the scholarship to, great. If not, then I hope the fact that he left doesn't keep us from extending the scholarship to him.

This is what I was thinking as well. I never heard anyone say the guy lacked physical talent and potential but I got the sense there was some strong concern about his mental makeup. Given the facts that came out later it's not all that surprising the kid was having a tough time this last fall. I would guess Iowa plays it a wait and see type situation. If he puts it all together on the field, keeps his academics up, and gets the personal life sorted out I'd guess Iowa would give him another look(assuming a scholly is available). Lot of "ifs" in that equation though.

They've brought players back who have left the program before. If he's got the game, and he's got his off field sh!t together, they'll welcome him back.

Holy snikes...it is highly unlikely that would be their reason. I honestly don't even know why wed go there...?!

That first part just seems unlikely. Why would he come back to the state of Iowa unless KF wanted him there? Is IWCC really a destination JUCO?

or he has a friend there, or a IWCC coach recruited him due to the familiarity of the name given he was in iowa for some time.

Not enough of a reason IMO especially considering he has all the family ties back east.

It has to be about Iowa in some way.

He may simply be trying on his own to get back to Iowa and this is his way of showing them he is serious. Who knows.
