Jirehl Brock Talks About Final Five, Visits, Upcoming Decision

The charlatan thing has been in dean's family for several generations. Proceed with caution.

you should post that on a MSU football board. LOL.

I think, that if we ALL pool our collective minds together, we can impeach the current Ferentz regime. Then, even though we all disagree how to do it, I have no doubt we all could coach our beloved Hawkeyes to a National Championship. Orrrrr...

are you inferring king kirk is infallible?

gester, any idea how many scholarship DB's we have right now?
More than we have RBs.. for 4 positions.

Do you know how often DBs get injured compared to RBs? I don't, but it feels like less often.

I know this is a hot topic. Honestly, I would take both.

That said, I can see why they wouldn't. And I know I am good with the coaches not stringing a kid along. Kids only get 5 official visits. Teams get 50 some.

In my mind, not wasting a kid's visit is what separates the KF's from the Fleck's of the college football world.

Integrity means more to some than others. Take that as you will.

you're saying that Iowa is choosing Goodson over Brock and not Sargent over Brock, right? if you are, then I agree. But, I think it is short-sighted to tell your #1 thanks but no thanks. just the optics of it are bad; even if there is a valid reason. you let him visit if he still wants to. now, all programs can negatively recruit against Iowa by telling recruits "being Iowa's #1 doesn't mean jack. Even if you've verballed, they could just change their minds."

that is why I think it wasn't the right way to go. Let him visit.

Remember, this is one-sided news. He's saying Iowa cancelled the visit. It doesn't mean Iowa actually cancelled the visit the way we "think". In fact, unless/until Iowa is allowed to comment, Brock's is the only side of the conversation we'll hear, truth/factual or not.

we have 17 currently on scholarship. that's 4 deep at each position, plus 1. We have 5 rbs right now. 3 of those 5 have a combined total of 0 carries.

I don't think telling a recruit, hey, we're going in a different direction, but you can visit if you want and we'd be happy to have you is the same as canceling the visit and surprising the recruit. and also, how much would you guarantee a verbal agreement vs signing on the dotted line? how many rb's have we signed for '19?

sure. but on pay sites I belong to, it has been reported as: "we have been told by multiple sources Iowa will no longer take Brock..."

One thing to consider is the admins over at HR were saying a bunch of crap about Eno that turned out to be false. If this isn't one of the pay sites you're referring to, then disregard I guess.

You said it was obvious. that's a definitive statement. an absolute.

So okay, maybe you got a bit over zealous, i get it.

But your opinion isn't anything more than mine. Your logic isn't anything more than mine. But my logic includes the shortsightedness of proactively canceling a visit. every school hands out conditional offers. Some kids want to jump the gun and they're reminded the offer is conditional. That isn't what happened in this case. your example doesn't match the situation. iowa, essentially, pulled the offer.

So me making absolute statements is over zealous, but you making absolute statements saying that Brock was our #1 target is no biggie?

I mean common, this is a message board and hyperbole is used all the time, suck it up and quit acting like a baby Arvada. Don't get so bent out of shape that I used some hyperbole in disagreeing with you. I mean I get TK being a drama queen and all, that is his schtick, but this isn't really like you.

I'm not the one trying to claim DJ is a shooting guard, and that Locure is better than DJ. That is your snake oil that you been peddling. I just said I would make a bet that I ultimately would have lost is all, happens all the time.

Here's a photo of Dean's great great grandaddy selling his elixir to unsuspecting victims.

Oh man, this is super clever. I hope you stop soon, I'm so embarrassed about being wrong about a AAU event. Bottom line is I just hope that Iowa can land the 5* shooting guard DJ Carton.

ROFLMFAO! I've heard that ISU sources are claiming they're in the driver seat for Brock. Wouldn't that be funny?

Hey, Homes, LOL. Yep.
