Yep ISU got embarassed upsets happen. It was a brutal loss to stomach. Sit and wait for next year. We should be a top ten preseason team. Iowa will be more than satisfied just to make the tournament. Can't wait to stop the crap out of Iowa for the 5th time in 6 years. Well see ya in Hilton that'll be fun ; )

Lots of great teams have been upset in the tournament. They played a horrible horrible game. It happens. Iowas best team in recent memory lost to a 14 seed as well. Horner Brunner Haluska were all mentally weak? Best Hawkeye team in your lifetime I can almost promise that. I'm excited for next year. I think they'll be hungrier. How are the hawks looking? Uhl uthoff dingle berry the starting frontcourt? Uthoff at the four? Imposing group.

Random thoughts...
It's great to be a Hawkeye. I have witnessed the Hawkeye BB team in the Final four, an Elite 8 and multiple Sweet 16s. They have spent time as #1 in the polls and have actually played in an NCAA title game. Iowa has played in 3 Rose Bowls and two Orange Bowls. I attended 3 of those games. The football team has finished in the top 8 in country, multiple times. The football team also has spent time at the #1 spot in the polls. I can't even remember how many National Wrestling titles I have had the pleasure to enjoy. Maybe 20 or more. Too many to remember, I guess. I was going to bring up baseball but that would not be fair as some of the lesser universities can't afford to field a team.

40-22 Iowa All time record against ISU in Football
43-25 Iowa All time record against ISU in Basketball
61-16 Iowa All time record against ISU in Wrestling
21-18 Iowa All time record against ISU in women's Basketball

ISU has had a nice run in Basketball for a few years. They have been fortunate to get a number of really good transfers into the program. It is easier to do that at ISU as they have lower standards for admittance. Two of my son's closest friends wanted to go to Iowa and could not get in. Academics did not cut it. Where do you suppose they ended up? Yes, good old moo u. And along those lines, it is funny you bring up the Horner, Bruner and Haluska team. One thing about that team that you can't say about ISU: That Iowa team had actual student athletes playing as opposed to the hired transfers brought in annually by ISU.

It has certainly been an enjoyable NCAA tourney so far. The powerful Big 12 has really shown its' muscle. The Big 12 performance this post season will go down as one of the biggest flops, ever. Never have so many teams from one league, been so "over seeded".

And finally, ISU lost to the worst team in the tournament this year. Gotta feel good about that one. By the way, Northwestern State was 26-7 the year they beat Iowa and 15-1 in their league. UAB was 15-15 before playing the conference tournament on their home court. They were a middle of the pack team in a horrible league.

Your assessment of BB means absolutely NOTHING. You are wrong on everything you ever say about BB, you told us Iowa was gonna be worse this year, and they were way better. Good thing you are too yellow to bet..... .Iowa better than last year (check), ISU worse than last year (check), Big12 sucking azz like always (check), B1G better than Big12 like always (check). LOLOLOLOL.

Back on topic though.....I think it was unwise for Fred to pull Custer's scholarship, what if Morris goes down to injury? Also that means after next year ISU will have exactly 1 HS recruit on the team......you told us Fred builds around HS kids????

No, the best Hawkeye team would have been the 1980 Final 4 team. (Final 4 is a term that ISU fans would be unfamiliar with)

Wow. Iowa has played in 20 more NCAA tourney games.

I disagree, Custer sucked. If Monte went down, they were screwed either way, Custer's game is better suited for Iowa 3-A high school basketball.

I forgot about Forever's bets he wanted to do, this is one case where having no balls whatsoever works out for someone as the B12 proved once again what a totally overrated conference they are.

You just made the argument as to why his scholarship wasn't pulled. He didn't want to wait to play, so he's moving on. Occam's razor.
 
Question... Would Iowa fans want Fran to go after Custer? If the answer is no, then why is this a big deal?

I would love to see the clowns be a 1 seed. It would be fun to see the first 16 seed team win.

I'm over the loss. It was brutal. I'm just glad I have something to be excited about. We're a top ten team next year. Possibly top 5 if we land Diallo. I'd be so depressed if my best best players next year were Peter Jok, Mike Gessell and Adam fricken Woodbury. Seriously what a buzz kill. Uthoff is a nice player I feel bad for him should have stayed at a winner Wisconsin. Guy wanted to go to school with his GF at Iowa though young and in love.

Bruh, A little bit of advice for you. I would refrain from placing wagers with people, until FH puts more of a emphasis on playing some D and modifies his "we will just out score them" approach. You will continue to be heartbroken and probably end up broke. You got lucky this time because everyone was posturing trying to get their bet on their terms. Just think how much money you would have lost if people had of taken your bet straight up. That's a lot of cans to collect, multiple semen donations, a lot of blood/plasma donations.....is it worth it?

Oh okay Bruuuuuh!! He's trying to get better on the defensive end. You have to get longer, better athletes. Jameel McKay was a start. Big 12 defensive POY. If we land Diallo he is an elite rim protector top 10 recruit. Morris is a terrific defender. We are well on our way. I agree we need to get better on defense.

When should we start questioning how good of a coach Fred is then? I mean, you listed all the 4* recruits, and how much talent ISU has, and they have 0 conference championships, 1 sweet 16 and a first round exit. I mean Scott Drew does a better job at Baylor with an elite 8, 2 sweet 16's. Fran does a better job at Iowa with only 2 4* recruits getting to the round of 32.

I'd be pretty pizzed off with results like that. I mean Iowa fired Mr. Davis for getting better results that Fred, with WAYYYYY less talent that you are bragging about.
