I'm not real up to speed on the new ranking system.. What's a good URL to bookmark for this stuff? I can't see much on ESPN other than their BPI, and AP/Coaches polls.

NCAA NET Rankings:

Quadrant data you see above is from a spreadsheet I created pulling in data from the first link(above) and applying the Quadrant system rules the NCAA released (link below).

First thing I notice is that Lunardi has Nevada as a #1 seed, but they are #28 in the NET rankings. So who's full of beans? :)

Keep in mind Lunardi's last update was Jan 4th. The NET through Jan 3rd had Nevada at #8 when they were undefeated and were yet to get obliterated by New Mexico.

A lot can happen in a few days :)

There is a ton of opportunity left. Currently no bad losses with all 3 being quadrant 1. Losing to Illinois or Rutgers at home would be the only potential major blemishes remaining on the schedule.

Could you post this updated throughout the season? Very cool.

Absolutely. The meat of the work is already done. I just have to refresh the queries when the new rankings come out and add in the W or L in the W/L column. That's the hope anyways barring any broken formulas or changes to the format of data brought in somewhere.

I love this type of information...hard data rather than random opinions. Thanks for sharing!

oh it still could.

So, i asked this in another post, but it probably belongs here. NW Net is currently 56, so, tomorrow nights road game is a chance for another QUAD 1 win right?

From above:
  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75

So yes, they would be considered a quad 1 as long as they stay in the top 75 of the NET.

I still want to know how the selection committee will view the NET rankings when it comes time to pick teams and assign seeds. Do they still give their biased "eyeball test" or do they go strictly off the rankings? This new ranking system would be pretty pointless still if they just seeded and selected teams however the eff they want

Uconn, Pitt and Oregon all seem to be in a free fall...so that sucks

Iowa State should stay a quadrant 1 win all season long...Nebraska ***should*** stick as a Q1, but they haven't looked great in conference play so far
