Iowa vs ISU sweet 16...

I forgot that McKay was a transfer and not a juco. So is it correct to say both teams have 1 transfer in the starting lineup?

Exactly how is a juco not a transfer? He had to transfer in order to play. His juco eligibility was used up.

Everyone knows transfers are part of the game (both losing them and getting them). Even an idiot like you can figure out that ISU having 13-15 players exit the program and 13-15 transfers signed over 5 years is at a whole other level. ISU is nationally know for this for a reason, I'm not sure why Clowns get their panties in a bunch when many refer to it (listen to a Clown broadcast, even all the announcers talk about it). It isn't just Iowa fans that say it.

Even sportscasters on ESPN are calling them Transfer U.

I can live with that. As soon as the tournament is over and the transfers start swirling (there have already been several announced), ISU will have a really good shot at whichever transfers they want (assuming they fit a need and we can offer some PT).

It makes for a really fun April/May.

That way we can probably land at least one to help with next year, and grab another that will be sitting out next season to help offset our losses the following year.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If we land Cheick Diallo or a stud transfer were looking at a top 5 ranking heading into next year. Book it.

ISU is very good. Hoiberg is a very good coach. ISU is better in basketball than Iowa and has been for a while. Foreversomething(a cyclone fan), despite the above, still spends an enormous amount of time on HawkeyeNation.....why is that?

"UNI and Iowa State, two very good teams from The Hawkeye State".... oh, that's why.

Then why do fans like Foreverd0uche gets soooooo pizzed off and come out and mock other programs if they happen to look at or sign a transfer, or a player leaves a program? If you and others are so OK with this, then why the schizo behavior? I have never understood it myself, as it is obviously a strategy that has worked well for Fred, and of course other programs are gonna throw the Transfer U label at you. So why is the fan base so sensitive about it, and act like whiny crying little beotches about it if it DOESN'T bother them?

So the real questions is...... If ISU gets matched up with Alford/UCLA in the second round, who do Hawk fans root for?

Simply put...I don't care! I think it's great that Hoiberg recruits nationwide from all three ranks (HS, Juco, Transfer). Keep the great players coming! You are clearly the one who cares. You rattle off all the statistics and numbers and spend all the time researching it. Clearly bothers you and you can smell the jealousy. "Uhhh duhhhrrr me researched and he there Hoiberg had 13 incoming transfers and 10 others leave the program in the last X years."

UCLA without question, due to ISU's obnoxious and delusional fanbase. UCLA has at least "been there before". ISU fans puff their chest and strut around acting like ISU is the greatest team since Wooden's, yet ISU has never really accomplished much in their basketball history (though you wouldn't know it, to hear them talk). A couple of Big 12 titles and a final four back when only about 8 teams played in the ncaa tourney (which was the second best tourney at the time, with most of the best teams playing in the nit).

ISU. You don't get any scummier than AlFraud, and I have tons of good friends who are good ISU fans (not d0uches like Foreverd0uche)

You don't care, but you post non stop on HN??? YEAHHHHHHH RIIIIGHHHHTTTTTT, I mean that makes total sense. What did I research? Don't hate on my because my paper route has instilled a wicked good memory in me. I don't how many exactly have come and gone (nobody can remember exactly how many as the number is crazy high), I just know that I can think of at least 10 each way (coming and going). Just as I know that Iowa has lost 3 players now under Fran, and he has signed 2 transfers. If you need some help with your memory skills, I am hiring people to help me with my paper route. I do require that you have at least a 5th grade education level (ISU degree does NOT qualify) and you must have your own transportations (bike).

Easy answer. Neither. We watch one of the other 16 games, most likely Iowa vs. Gonzaga. However, UCLA is pathetic. They never should have made the NCAA tournament. (Maybe should be a middle seed in the NIT).

Actually Fran has signed three transfers: Jarrod Uthoff, Trey Dickerson and Bryce Cartwright.

Doesn't Fran have more transfers starting now then Fred?

Nope. Iowa starts 1 transfer and has 1 transfer in their 9 man rotation.

Iowa State starts 2 transfers and has 3 transfers in their 8 man rotation. And this is the 4th straight year Fred has at least one 5th year senior playing their 1 and done in his rotation. Two years ago he had 2 and both started. And the 5th year player has been a starter each year...B D-J started earlier in the year.

And I believe all 5 of the Iowa State players referenced above were older when they got to Iowa State than Devyn Marble was when graduated from Iowa.

Nope.

Uthoff for Iowa. No bench players.

McKay and Hogue for ISU. Bench players Dejean-Jones and Nader. (And Edozie when he plays)

I didn't know Nader was a transfer. See there are so many I can't keep track.

It works for ISU. That's fine. But I don't want to do it this way. And when Fred is gone so are the annual transfers.

...there isn't a team that can match up with them in this part of the bracket.

I have Iowa State in the Elite 8. But I had to think about which team to take in the SMU vs. ISU game. Larry Brown has a good 8 man rotation with quality at all 5 positions. And he definitely knows how to coach in the NCAA Tournament.

I expect SMU to rout UCLA and then give ISU all they can handle. If ISU spots them a double digit lead as they have their opponents in the last 5 games it's going to get dicey.
