Just for fun and for some good discussion this week.

125 - McD maj Hunter, 4-0 Could easily be worse but Matt hasn't been real sharp yet this year.
133 - Moore/Ramos maj Jones/Cash, 8-0 I think that either of our guys comes out firing here and this should be a mismatch.
141 - Drouin dec Ballweg, 8-3 This could be a very close and interesting matchup but I think the veteran pulls this one out.
149 - Carr dec Chiri, 8-6 I'm not a big fan of Carr but I'll give him the nod here. I think that if Carew were wrestling he wins here.
157 - St John dec Weatherman, 11-6 I'd like to go with a major but I'll leave it as regular decision.
165 - Kerr dec Sorensen, 14-6 This should be a very close hard fought match.
174 - Reader dec Lofthouse, 14-9 I'd love to go with the upset here but kind of like 141 I'll go with the veteran here. This could be the most fun match of the night.
184 - Gambrall maj Riley, 18-9 If Grant can finish his takedowns he should win big.
197 - Lofthouse dec Ward, 21-9 I just think that Lofthouse has too much heart and fight in him for Ward.
Hwt - Rasing dec Simonson/Gibson, 24-9 Simonson is wrestling very well right now and this could be a good match but I think that Blake finds a way to win.

125- Mcd- major 4-0

133- Moore - fall, to big for Mr. Jones, if Ramos goes i will take a major 10-0

141- Ballweg- loses by a takedown in OT, 10-3

149- Chiri - loses by dec, if he can stay away from Carr's quick bursts he can win this match, Carr too much right now, different story later in year. 10-6

157- St. John - Weatherman frustrates him enough to keep it at a dec. 13-6

165- Kerr - Will have to be ready to go, if he stands flat footed like he did friday night Sorenson may just get him. Kerr fight off the late takedown in CHA. 16-6

174- UPSET OF THE NIGHT Lofthouse man on a mission, just wrestles with a attitude like you would except from a Hawkeye. 19-6

184- Gambrall majors who ever ISU throws out here. 23-6

197- Lofthouse to much in the tank for Mr Ward, Luke will have to continue to finish his shots like he has been this year. Ward ton of talent, but doesnt use it. 26-6

HWT- Rasing not sure who ISU will wrestle here but I was reading somewhere that someone thought Gibson would slap a cradle on big Blake I dont see that happening. Rasing dec not a very entertaining match. 29-6 Final

Well that was total gut feelings on all matches lets see what happens! Go Hawks!

I agree with one exception. I think Ballweg gets the upset and Reader beats Lofthouse.

McD Major 4-0
Moore/Ramos Major 8-0
Druin Dec 8-3
Carr Dec 8-6
St John Dec 11-6
Kerr Dec 14-6
Reader Dec 14-9
Gambrall Dec 17-9
Lofthouse Dec 20-9
Rasing Dec 23-9

Don't have a very good feeling about this one:

125 McD- Maj Dec--4-0
133 Ramos- Maj Dec--8-0
141 Druin- Maj Dec--8-4
149 Carr- Maj Dec--8-8
157 St John- Dec--11-8
165 Sorensen- Dec--11-11
174 Reader- Dec--11-14
184 Gambrall- Dec--14-14
197 Ward- Dec--14-17
HWT Gibson- Dec--14-20

Breakdown of losses:

141- I think the first major meet in CHA gets to young Ballweg and the more experienced Druin (sp) gets a couple of takedowns, some tilt points, and a riding point to get the major.

149- Think Carr's quickness will be too much for Chiri; probably will be a takedown clinic.

165- Toss up, Kerr inconsistency says loss here.

174- I think some are putting too much "CHA magic" in play here; Reader is a stud and should have his way with young Lofthouse. The plus side is Reader is not a big scorer.

197- Think elder Lofthouse makes a major comeback in the 3rd period, but can't overcome the the two -three takedowns Ward gets in the first two periods.

HWT- When Rasing actually beats someone, i'll pick him.

is this only available live for mediacom users and on bigtennetwork.com?? i can't go to the dual now and am forced to watch it on tv but have direct tv

I'm new to a lot of these names. Can someone do a prediction with theh school by the name? Also, what would your final scores come out then?

125: MCD-Hunter
MCD has been lack luster getting back into shape supposedly but a win is a win in my eyes and early in the season is tough to get everything rolling you learned in the off season on to the mat come match time. i see a major here and if he doesn't get one fans will be worried

Iowa-4
ISU-0

133: Moore-Jones
moore, ramos, and clark are all studs and what a battle they will have in the wrestling room this season! reminds me of my wrestling partners in high school, never a dull moment. its not clear who tom will send out but all of them should get the win here. my guess after getting his butt in gear moore gets the nod here and wins by decision

Iowa-7
ISU-0

141: Ballweg-Drouin
ballweg has shown he has the ability to win here but i think drouin comes out on top this match. he wants to win in carver and will be firing on all cylinders. this will come down to the wire which is good not giving up bonus points.

Iowa-7
ISU- 3

149: Ballweg-Carr
Ive had mixed emotions about carr it seems its a different wrestling every time or atleast when i watch him wrestle. boy would it be nice to have metcalf here for some bonus points! chiri or ballweg should be able to win with a decision here. my guess is to gets ballweg in the lineup since he has been chomping at the bit watching metcalf for all these years.

Iowa-10
ISU- 3

157: DSJ-Weatherman
this will be a great match to watch. ive don't think weatherman will be a good college wrestler and will like to see him lose a lot of matches. his style has not switched over to college and the first thing i notice is his stance. its horrible!! DSJ will dominate on weatherman on their feet and will get the decision here.

Iowa-13
ISU- 3

165: Kerr-Sorenson
kerr is just a blah to me and i think he always will be! sorenson could beat kerr here if he out wrestle him on their feet. so will the acdc kerr come out or the dolly parton? my guess is kerr wins a CLOSE decision and possibly takes overtime to win this one

Iowa-16
ISU- 3

174: Lofthouse-Reader
yesterday i really couldn't talk myself into reader losing here. reader has been favored against the hawks in the past and has lost. lofthouse is a man on the mission as hawks1010 would say and trust his opinion. this will be a fun match to watch and if the hawks are winning by the margin i have predicted carver will be rocking for lofthouse to win here. with that said im giving the decision to lofthouse!

Iowa-19
ISU-3

184: Gambrall-Riley
gambrall looks to get some bonus points who possibly will be riley for isu. either way whoever is on the matt for the clowns i see gambrall fallin short of a major. at this point its not looking good for the ames boys

Iowa-22
ISU-3

197: Lofthouse-Ward
hate to say it but ward gets isu on the board again here. this guy has all the talent in the world but lacks in conditioning thats why i agree with fuls that lofthouse could come back in the 3rd period to win this one. i have iowa winning a few more matches so i'll give ward the benefit and pick him winning by an ugly decision

Iowa-22
ISU-6

HWT: Raising-Sorenson
raising keeps it close just like every other hwt in the nation and its where he gets in trouble. simonson should be the hwt here with the way he has been wrestling and sadly gets the decision here. raising has heart but not enough to win this match. this will be a blessing in disguise and rasing will realize he needs to work his butt off and score more points in these hwt matches if he wants to AA

Iowa-22
ISU-9

Pin, I like your attitude...but I see it being closer than that. Cant really pinpoint where you may be wrong, just one or two of those going another way.

Thanks pin2win. I think your predictions could be accurate. I'm a clone fan, but I really admire the "we're going to come out and get you" attitude Iowa has. ISU seems too timid when they wrestle Iowa for some reason.

I think I'll make the drive down to Iowa City with my 4 year old to go since the tv coverage has been a train wreck it sounds like

165 Sorensen- Dec--11-11
174 Reader- Dec--11-14
184 Gambrall- Dec--14-14
197 Ward- Dec--14-17
HWT Gibson- Dec--14-20

Ward just lost to a DIII guy.
Reader is hardly a stud. In Omaha last year he tanked and looked like a sissy.
ISU is ISU... they wrestle below their talent level and have no heart.
No way they beat us in CHA even on a "down" year.
