Iowa looks into alleged recruiting violation

The thing that bothers me is not that we are being investigated. I'm not worried about it since nothing will come of it. But what really gets at me is that schools such as Auburn, OSU, Kentucky bball are getting nothing done to them when its rather obvious to the world what is going on.. Also this oversigning crap is getting old. Its something the NCAA needs to fix but we all know they won't anytime soon.

The NCAA isn't picking on Iowa here. All these schools get these little inquiries about certain violations. You just never hear about them b/c nothing comes from them. Like nothing will come from this

...and no one outside this board and die hard fans will even hear about it.

USC got hit pretty hard. Losing scholarships for several years is significant.

FWIW...every program pushes the limits, and many cross the line. This is no secret. I have friends who were big time DI recruits from the 90's and they all say that there was a lot of passing of cash to recruits during visits. And this was at ALL schools, not just the top programs.

So why did you include all of those other schools in your list?

And yet somehow, USC was able to sign 30 players (#4 class in the nation). They haven't missed a beat. That would be a sign that the punishment was hardly "coming down hard".

The NCAA doesn't do sh*t. They haven't been willing to come down hard on top programs since SMU. It's time they start ACTUALLY bringing the hammer down.

USC is appealing the penalty which is why they haven't felt the effect of the punishment yet. Losing 10 scholarships is a big penalty and it will hurt USC, I think it's actually going to hurt them worse by dragging it out.

If you think Iowa gives 180K to church owners (LOL-God is broke, must be an American) to sway a recruit here . . . you're nuts. Iowa's transgressions are pretty much what others have stated . . . .bumping into Ashton Kutcher!
