I read the following in the Des Moines Register the other day:

The speedy Kwaw-Mensah set single-season Class 4-A and school records by rushing for 2,806 yards this past fall. He averaged 9.8 yards per carry and scored 40 total touchdowns. Has recently accepted a preferred walk-on at Iowa State.

If he can't get a scholarship offer at ISU, I'm guessing isn't going to get any D1 offers. Just wondering, but did he even had a UNI offer??

From what I know, no UNI offer & not being considered for a scholarship at Iowa.

Listed at 5'8" 185 lbs and runs a 4.4 40 on Rivals site along with no offers...Accumulated 2,806 yards and 36 touchdowns on 285 carries...Not a scholarship athlete, but a preferred walk-on at Iowa State.

I believe a late bloomer.

I heard that Plowman could be walking on at Iowa State and earn a scholarship after a year. Also, heard that he could be going to Central and Buena Vista for both football and track.

There are some that question his on field toughness as he took some plays off during the season and didn't like some of the contact that he was taking during the season. Very interesting what one finds out at a social gathering.

The QB & S for West Lyon's Class A state championship football team, Snyder orchestrated a 14-0 campaign and turned heads in two blowouts at the UNI-Dome. Scoring seven TDs and rushing for 369 yards in the November semifinals & finals, he & the Wildcats wouldn't be denied.

"The mental part of winning & refusing to lose, you carry that over from football," Snyder said.

Even with his college interest lying in football, Snyder will keep doing what he's been preaching--staying focused. Wonder if he's going to be one of the Hawkeyes preferred walk-ons for 2014.

Brandon will be in Iowa City this weekend for an official visit. He does have a preferred walk-on offer. At this point he has not decided on playing football or basketball at the next level.

I see OL Ross Reynolds from Waukee picked up a grayshirt offer today from Iowa with a possibility of turning into a scholarship by fall kind of like WR Matthew VandeBerg in 2013.

I see DE Sam Brincks from Carroll Kuemper picked up a preferred walk-on opportunity at FBS Iowa ahead of a partial scholarship to FCS Northern Iowa. Being brought in as a DE, but the Iowa coaches told him there could be a position switch to TE or OT. Also, considered attending JUCO power, Iowa Western, in Council Bluffs, but Iowa won out in the end.
