IF YOU ENCOUNTER SITE ERRORS/GLITCHES, POST HERE

FWIW...In addition to having the above issues of the past 5 or 6 posts on my phone...which the jitteryness has made it so I can't/don't/won't use until resolved...I also couldnot login on my laptop where it tells you to "Login/Register"..as Freak described above. It's been a month or so since I last tried to login to post, so this may be the status quo for now, but just wanted to point out. I was able to login by going in a thread and directly responding to a comment...(worked, but was odd).

^^^^^^^^^^^Having the same issues as well......not a tech guy at all so I am glad to know it is not on my end.

Not from my phone since I haven't tried to. It is on my laptop that I cannot login. I tried IE and Firefox to determine if it was a browser setting. Neither browser worked to log in. I was finally able to login by replying to a post. This just started this past week.
 
Lets face it, this is a part time gig for JD now, and none of these glitches will ever be addressed. Still waiting for the "take me to the last post" button to come back.......

Well, thanks for posting this! I was having the same trouble tonight after having cleared all cookies from my browser in connection with a problem with a different site, and then I couldn't log back in here. Using the reply button worked, so I thought I'd make use of it to say thanks.

I'm having the same login problem. Thank you to whoever originally posted the "if you reply to a post it will let you login". At least there's a work-around until Jon and team can figure out the issue.

Jon, I really think that the site needs to be able to show twitter video. Right now I really want to post a tweet that shows Koehn celebrating in the Iowa locker room. Unfortunately I don't think the site allows that. If it does, please let us all know how to do that.

JD, I'm thinking with the uptick in traffic with the Hawks winning, that maybe you start fixing some of the glitches that have been mentioned time and time again in this thread. You should be able to embed tweets, so that it shows the photos or videos in the tweets. The other sites do it, the other sites you can embed twitter and the photos and vidoes in the tweet show up in the post.

Also don't know why the site doesn't work like the old site in that when you click on a thread it should just take you right to the last post you read. I've been complaining about this since you made the site changes, and I'll continue to complain about that until you address it. :D

As far as embedding tweets, I will see if vbulletin has added a plugin for that. It's not that we didn't want that, it's just that it wasn't an option at the time. It may be now. As for the other, I will check
 
OK, you can somewhat embed tweets

You need to get copy the numerical tail of a specific tweet, the numbers at the end of a tweet:

https://twitter.com/HawkeyeNation/status/656981636555214848

Then type [ tweet ]656981636555214848[ /tweet ] but without the spaces around the [ ] I left the spaces there so you could see what I was doing, otherwise it would have shown a broken link. Here is what it looks like

[tweet]656981636555214848[/tweet]

Yes, I knew how to do that, but it doesn't attach any media (photo's or video) that are in the tweet.
 
What are the indicators that someone has quoted or responded to a post you make? On mobile there doesn't appear to be a way to tell. I can't remember what threads I've been in or posted in...
 
Just to make aware...also there is a new thread in this forum reporting as well...appears more than a few of us are getting pop up adds replacing HN on same browser window...happens every few minutes the past two days. ...I'm on Android phone using chrome if it helps. Thanks.
 
JD, I wanted to bring to your attention that we have the following site errors/glitches:

1) HawkeyeMike23 is banned
2) JackNicholson is banned

I think those two have done their time and many would love to see them back posting. If you could find it in your heart to forgive them, that would be great.

I second that. I can see how Mike got banned but if you read enough of his posts in context, they' great. They're very "it sounds like I'm ripping on the team but really I'm making fun of you for ripping on the team".
