If Jake Starts The Remainder of the Season, Is CJ Gone?

Iowa's defense hasn't been good all year. Iowa needs all the offense it can muster to win games. To start the QB who's the least liable to generate points is, IMO, unconscionable or, at least, it shows very little aptitude or grasp of reality.

Both lines played poorly today.

Iowa had no chance with either QB. Iowa had no chance in **** with Jake.

Remember when I said scherff was coming back and CJB was leaving? He planned on it, and was promised a fair chance to compete and show why he should be the starter. So he stayed.

CJ already won the job at Pitt in my mind. We are mediocre at best with Jake the next 1.5 years. Hopefully, KF will come to his senses. How many 3 and outs today and against Maryland? Way too many, I know that. CJ has the talent to at least give us a chance to be good.

You are correct HW. But this thread is about PT for CJ and whether or not he leaves after this season, or not. As for the OL and DL play, that is coaching, having players ready to play, or, personnel decisions on who is playing, or, recruiting, the type of player available to select from.

CJ has a rifle arm and he was on target today. If he doesnt see significant time I would not blame him for leaving because he has the physical ability to play big time college and maybe in the pros.

Jake threw the ball well last week with more velocity and on the first drive today. But after the pick he looked to throw the very short routes and we were done just like at Maryland until the last part of that game.

I was very disappointed that CJ did not see a series or two in the second qtr and start the 2nd have.

CJ was handcuffed for the majority of his minimal minutes. Imagine him for 4 quarters.

I honestly don't think he would have come in otherwise. The game wasn't over yet and the offense was rolling at the time of the switch. Why switch qb's right then?
