I call BS...it is the head coaches job to get his team ready to play. It is up to the D1 athletes to man up and play the game to win. Here in SW Iowa it was clear they had terrible practices before they left for San Diego...and they laid an egg. There is no excuse for not being prepared to play in a bowl game. Iowa could of felt slighted too..I mean we had better records then some of the teams in front of us...

Just because it shouldn't happen (in theory) doesn't change the fact that it does. They absolutely blasted Washington earlier in the year. It's pretty tough to take a team that you've already blown away seriously, especially when you're already disappointed about not meeting expectations.

In some cases, getting jobbed in the bowl selection gets a team to play with a chip on its shoulder (see Oregon 2001). But then when you're playing a team you beat by 5 TD's, that feeling kind of disappears.

No, I'm not an idiot. I am a fan well informed on the Nebraska program and frankly tired of the snobbish attitude most unaware Husker fans take toward the state of Iowa as a whole and the University of Iowa in particular. No, Iowa isn't Council Bluffs or Carter Lake, though those towns are part of the state. Just like Nebraska isn't South Sioux City, Plattsmouth, or Allliance.

Take the simple fact that the University of Nebraska at Lincoln had to go dumpster diving for their nickname after The University of Iowa discarded the moniker "Cornhuskers" like the trash that it is. Or did you even know that?

As far as the beer pelting goes, i havent seen any Hawk fans do that to that extreme but i was just pointing that out. Please dont label nebraska as a terrible fan base when we dont assault people. Our coaches and players might but damit not the fans.

Through and through Iowa and all of her countys are AG communities. As well as Nebraska, hell if you go west of Grand Island i hear theres nothing past that but flat land. I was just stating that if i wanted to have sex with a farm animal i wouldnt travel 300 miles west to do so when i can go down the road to many of iowas farms and fields. As far as makeing fun of eachothers state neither really has any ground.

And we also used to be refered as the Hawkeyes as well so i guess it was a fair trade.

You're both right. The prep was bad, the team was flat, they played like crap. No excuses. Should have rolled UW, but for whatever reason (cough, cough, Watson) this offense has regressed throughout this season.

And I haven't heard one NU fan say that we go jobbed by the refs in the game, or the CCG. There were a couple of missed calls, but we are ****** that our team keeps committing stupid, reckless penalties.

You must of lived in a different part of Nebraska or something...I was constantly made fun of for wearing Iowa stuff...people stole our Iowa flags...they were down right rude...

This is hilarious, and I find it highly unlikely. WE DONT CARE ABOUT IOWA, you guys obsess about us. Do we pick on our little brothers, sure, but its all in good fun. As a matter of fact, with some very rare exceptions, visting fans are treated very well in Nebraska. OU, KSU, Mizzou, CU, heck even UT fans (we hate texass) said how well they were treated, and how nice of a time they had in Lincoln this year. And the "Sal is dead, Go Big Red" thing, while classless, was in response to how CU fans treated NU fans in Boulder. Throwing beer bottles, dumping urine on people, and vandalizing cars was pretty common, and just the tip of the iceberg. I'm told that many Big 10 fan bases act similarly to CU fans.

The ONLY fanbases that I have ever heard this about are Iowa's and ISU's. I wonder why? Maybe you should both change your school colors to green.
