I think Morehouse nailed it

Duff you stole this thread, I read it earlier on my phone and didn't understand the genius of the Miller aging post until just now. OUTSTANDING.

That might be true, but good old JD has aged far worse. Here is a picture of teh Diesel from a few years ago...

And here is one of him this year...

It's shocking really.

This made my week. I just keep coming back to it and laughing.

Great, Orange Bowl win, has there been sustained success? Not really, the season isn't played to prove that you're better than your record suggests. Being OK shouldn't be the standard, it's what should get you fired (eventually). That's why it's nice to see change, it shows he's not looking to stay with the status quo. I don't think anybody has said that they've regretted being a Hawk fan during the 2.0 era, just that "At least we weren't awful" is a losers mentality.

2010 was awful. 5 losses because the d couldn't stop the other team on their final drive of the game, failing to live up to expectations again (and at least in 2005, the sub-par d-line provided a mostly valid excuse). In 2011, it was clear that we just didn't have the horses, but 2010 was just flat-out disappointing--comparable to 2006 and 1997.

The pro-combat uniforms are stupid and hideous--nothing more than Nike's endless quest to, as always, make itself the center of attention instead of the teams actually playing the game. But if a moronic marketing gimmick brings in a few more 5 star recruits, then I'm all for it.

Very well said.

This was a coaches problem as they handcuffed the offense and repeatedly screwed the defense. The defense was put in so many bad positions and was on the field for most of the games.

Everytime the defense made a big stop or forced a turnover the offense would go 3 and out in about 1 min.

Iowas defense being on the field for most of every game is why a bunch of botards around here think AC was lazy. He wasnt lazy he ran out of gas thanks to Kurt and guy who looks like Kurt with glasses.

It has morphed into another topic, Duffman. Most of the "era" or "version" posts aren't intended to pass judgement on Ferentz or the staff. It's just a neat exercise, and I'm cool with that.

Nailed it.
