I think Iowa makes the CBI

And to be honest, I'd take that in a heartbeat. The Campbell loss looks really bad right now, as does the Clemson one which probably will keep Iowa out of the NIT/NCAA barring some totally unexpected wins.

The benchmark for the NIT is probably 18 wins which is going to be hard to reach. The CBI would take Iowa with 15 or 16 I think, possibly 14.

I just want some sort of postseason play and if it's the CBI, then I am 100% fine with that. Just more experience for the Hawks.

have you looked at how Campbell's record, they are 11-8 overall 1 game out of 1st in their conference at 5-2 the leader is 6-1
the loss to Campbell is not that bad, they could end up in the dance and help Iowa's chances

Campbell has losses to Houston Baptist, UNC-Ashville, UNC-Wilmington, App State, and Charlston Southern. Losing to them, especially at home and by the margin the Hawkeyes did, was absolutely inexcusable for a Big Ten team.

Campbell loss killed us. I'm still hoping for NIT by the skin of our teeth. Overall strength of the B1G may help us.

laugh if you want but the more they win the more it helps, conference champion gets the auto bid, and having a winning record will help

So you want Iowa to pay to go to a crap shoot tournament for experience and maybe a few extra games?

if campbell gets and autobid they will get to lose in the 1st round by being a #1 or #2 teams practice game. maybe they get to play in one of the play-in pig tail games but i dont count those as a round.

Regular season conference champ gets auto bid?

Just wondering because I know a lot of the small conferences have a tournament and the team that wins that gets the auto bid, not the regular season champ.

Campbell is not good. They have a 161 RPI and that will not really improve as the conference they play in stinks.

Campbell has lost 8 games already and has not played a tough schedule.

Campbell loss is tough. They are currently #180 in the Pomeroy ratings (Iowa is #101).

Clemson is a neutral loss. They are 90.

UNI and Iowa State are good losses - they are in the low 40s!

Campbell is a bad loss. Please don't sugar coat it. They aren't good and they thumped us at home.

The tournament champion in every league gets the auotmatic bid. The regular season champion gets an automatic bid to the NIT if they don't win their conference tournament and make the NCAA as an at large.

I didn't know that about the NIT thanks

The CBI is a pay for play tournament. If the AD wants to pay for a home game and we are .500 or higher, we will be in the CBI.

Except the Ivy League, FYI.

. . . because the Ivy League doesn't have a tournament. Every conference champ gets a bid. The Ivy League doesn't have a tournament, so their regular season champ gets the bid. The Big Ten and Pac-10 also had a time recently when they didn't have tournaments, and their regular season champs made the tourny.
