We need to just make the playoffs 32 teams and have no byes either. All teams play in the first round.
To reward the better teams they get to start with the lowest seed just like it’s done in basketball.
First seed plays the 32nd team, second seed plays the 31st team so forth and so on.
Now that college football has gone to a semi-pro mentality let’s quit screwing around. Also get rid of the bowl games other than the first 16 games to start the playoffs. That’s a lot of bowl games in and of itself. You will still have a significant amount of bowl games (or locations) for each playoff game.
16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1= 31 championship bowl games.
The 32 teams would draw in a large massive amount of fan bases and enormous interest in TV interests. If length of season seems to much then drop two games off of the regular season and just play ten regular season games.
