I normally don't complain about officiating

I have never called anybody out on this message board for complaints about officiating nor have I asked people to not complain about refs. I do call out cyfans who have game threads which should be called ref complaint threads because there are more posts about refs than they do about the games. According to cyfans, of which you are clearly one of, they've never lost a game. They've been robbed of every game they've ever lost. They complain about refs before games start and the embarrassment that is Jamie Pollard takes it to an unbelievable level. It speaks to the 3 year old mentality of cyfans to continue their rants and cry about there clearly unbiased accounts of the refs. When Hawkeye Nation complains about the refs as much as cyfans do I will call them out. Your girlfriend, Mrs. Williams clearly endorses and encourages that kind of posting while Mr. Miller controls this site and will shut down threads if they get out of control. The fact that you're able to continue to post here shows the professional job that Jon Miller does and if a Hawk fan posted something similar on cyfan he would be banned a long time ago by the little girls club over there. When the person who runs cyfan and 90% of the posters think professional wrestling is real you have to question their mental capacities.

I know it's a tough thing when you realize that your fanbase isn't special and acts just like every other fanbase including your rival. It's gonna be okay.

This thread is as weak as a Woodbury dunk. Only clones cry about refs. Iowa deserved to lose. They flat out sucked.

I agree that we did plenty to lose but you have to admit that 16 minutes without a single whistle has to be extremely rare. Can you recall any games where you have seen that for us or an opponent? If we had played Wisky or MSU at Carver and we did not get whistled for 16 minutes I am sure Bo and Izzo would not have had a problem with that.

I agree. I was cussing the refs as well. Especially on the Oglesby phantom foul. But it wasn't the reason we lost.

Iowa made mistakes. The officials made mistakes. Iowa can only control one of those factors. It aint worth bitchin about the other.

I do agre with you and it is out of our control as you pointed out but it is worth noting. I am not seeking favoritism in officiating just consistency. 16 minutes indicates almost a deliberate attempt to swallow the whistle is my point.

Many games every season come down to a few possessions or points and the difference between a win and loss is huge. 16 minutes without a call impacts the game especially when they are blowing the whistle at the end of the shot clock and awarding 2 FT's at the other end.

Iowa only being able to control one of those things is why they shouldn't even discuss the refs. As a fan, I can't control either so I'm gunna b!tch about both.

If Northwestern would have had the benefit of officials swallowing their whistle on all of their fouls and calling phantom fouls on their opponents, they would be .500 in conference right now.

People say we deserved to lose because how bad we played. I disagree. We deserved to be in a dog fight and MAYBE lose because of how bad we played. Then we deserved to excape with a win because of Uthoff's heroics. Both the refs and every player for Northwestern becoming Michael Jordan took it away.

The ref's didn't turn the ball over and put up stupid shots in OT. That was all on Aaron White...And Woodbury bricking every FT. Get over it.

The players didn't call a phantom foul on Oglesby on a huge possession and not call a single foul in 16 minutes . Get over it.

Depends. The student section was totally crazy and they got in Woodbury's head. Had he been the one shooting FTs, we likely would not have lost.
What happened were you temporarily banned and now you're bringing all your frustration and anger on the purple kitties season out because they won. Enjoy having Doug Collins in the house come tournament time, oh wait.

I prefer to rip on adults getting paid to be competent at their jobs then rip on kids trying their hardest and making mistakes.

But why do that when you can enjoy it right here where it never happens?
Please show me where I said it never happens. Typical cyfan loser who gets backed into a corner and then the lies come out. You and your lose friends over at cyfan are so insecure. Even when your team is winning you still try to measure up to the Hawks. Thank you for continuing to re-inforce the legend that is little brother or is it sister. Maybe you should try to post something as thunderhawk so you feel like you have friends.

Lol. You got me. I'm Thunderhawk. But did you know I'm also deanvogs, HawkeyeMike23, SteveGarvey and You? Mind blowing right?

I have never been banned from this iteration of HawkeyeNation, thank you very much. You guys might backslide into the tournament this year (I doubt it because your coach is a moron who will lose the team again, just like he did last year), but you have to be blind to think our future isn't brighter than yours. Carmody left a tire fire and Coach Collins has a tough rebuilding job, but we have some very solid freshmen and a top 100 player recruited for next year.

This game was not won because of what the refs did. You should go to the clown board where you would fit right in with their babble.

This game was won by a combination of a lot of things. The refs were part of it. Unless officials call a perfect game, they always have a say on the outcome of a close game. To think otherwise is pretty ignorant. For instance, if they don't blow the whistle on Oglesby when he never even touched the guy, we almost certainly win that game. That was a huge mess up by an official at a very inopportune time. Just because iowa didn't play a flawless game doesn't change the fact that an official's horrible judgement greatly reduced our chances of winning.

Fans discussing bad officiating on a message board is the same thing as an entire arena booing at a bad call. There is nothing wrong with it. We aren't on the team. We don't have to "focus on the things we can control". The only reason you associate blaming refs with ISU is because they are your rival. All teams complain about officiating equally. Also people need to learn the difference between blaming a loss entirely on officiating and discussing a few bad calls or quarky stats.
