I am almost glad we lost this one....

This coaching staff will never take Iowa to a National Championship but then probably no coaching staff will take Iowa that far.

Even when Iowa has tremendous talent, this coaching staff will ensure that Iowa loses several games with their no balls calls.

Guys, don't think I like that KF uses non-con for development. All the same, he does.

If you want an NC, it will take something remarkable. This team isn't even close.

But I guarantee they will improve as the year goes on. But big problem is four young key contributors that can develop into NFL guys are out and their replacements are not NFL guys. Not having these guys on the field to develop is brutal.

Iowa deserved to lose today. They were outplayed by isu. What is frustrating is with 1:30 left in regulation, first play is run up the middle to Coker, then offense looked confused like they were then going to go in to hurry up mode. Dont understand the thinking of KOK and KF.

Now ferentz can't get away with having 1:17 left and 2 timeouts and opting for OT
I only saw the last half of the 3rd qtr til end of game. Why did we not keep going to the air over their smaller DB's? That was a terrible call on the end of round with Marvin rolling left in OT...should've could've been picked. I like the play but NOT in that situation.

I do not think I saw a pass to a TE in the last 22 minutes of regulation.

Kirk will explain in the end of regulation, they ran the 1st play (Coker run)& if the busted it they would have gone for the win instead of playing for OT. Show some confidence in your team & say let's do this boys. 2 TO & 1:17 to get into FG range.

He's getting paid like a coach who wins national championships, something that will NEVER happen at Iowa with this mentality.

You win the POST of the YEAR. This is getting old. This is what is strange. He treats this game like it is just another game. Under his tenure Isu has always obviously been more fired up. Fine. But then why not have that "c'est la vie" attitude during the game and just go for it! He is way too tense and risk aversive.

For those who think iowa is going to win 10 games and compete for a big ten title each year, its just not realistic. This program is built to compete for a conference title maybe once or twice in a span of 5-6 years. Iowa doesn't have the type of recruiting advantages and ability to reload that florida and ohio state have. Add the fact that KF doesn't have an agressive bone in his body, and you end up losing games you shouldn't and keeping the games you should lose close.

Yes, there is some truth to this. But would Barta agree. Frankly, probably so. The football program is a cash cow and runs the athletic department obviously. I guess it is what it is. But do we have to pay a coach almost $4million to get to this point?

Exactley why Ferentz needs to go. Or change staff. That is the next level that he just can't seem to get us to.

After 100 years of football iowa fans need to except that we have reached our next level...you really think another coach is coming in and making Iowa a national title contender every year. cripes

"Going to the next level" means rolling the dice with a huge coaching change. How did that work for us after Tom Davis?

Kirk will never learn that always taking the safe choice isnt always the best choice.

He did it TWICE in this game in 4th quarter and OT

I know its coming but it still is so infuriating

Considering we kicked an 18 yard fg I think you could argue he did it 3 times...
