Hyde Arrested

An arrest is an arrest and it still looks the same to recruits and their parents. Public intox may not be that big of a deal but it still looks bad on the program.

Soooooo....

all 3 are charged with victimless crimes. Am I correct?

Public Intox is not a crime, imo, but disorderly conduct is. I didn't see that anyone was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Also, a cop can slap on an IWOA charge if the guy he is writing the ticket for "talks back".
Again... victimless crime.

But, the law is the law and they broke it. Got to pay the price now.

Victimless crimes!? You have a lot of audacity....Let's say the cop didn't arrest Hyde...he throws up on the sidewalk....some innocent hipster walking downtown to buy their quadruple organic flax seed latte muffin is absorbed in their iphone and steps in the throw up....ruining their $300 Giovanni boots....THAT is NOT a VICTIMLESS Crime!! You obviously have no compassion.

If he's suspended two games, Ferentz would have some explaining to do as it doesn't mesh with the punishments he's handed down in the past.

One game at most, more likely no suspension but he loses his spot as captain.

To be honest, I'm a little surpised at the outrage over a public intox.

When my cousin was at Iowa, he left the bars one night and wasn't sure if he should be driving. Because it was so late he didn't want to bother anyone for a ride (it was less than a mile) so he left his car and decided to walk. He was by himself walking in the dark on the sidewalk, when he stumbled (tripped) because a piece of concrete from the sidewalk was sticking up. A cop was driving down the street and saw him stumble and decided to stop and talk to him. 10 minutes later, my cousin had a public intox ticket and a free ride to jail.

My cousin took pictures of the sidewalk, and the cop verified the location as being where he picked him up.

Didn't matter.

Public intox is a victimless crime. Now, if someone is drunk AND disorderly, that is a different matter. What happened to my cousin was total BS. He was trying to do the right thing by walking home.

Ahh... the part where he throws up changes things. Now it is not a victimless crime. He has defaced someone's property and should be punished extensively!

Also, we can't deal with "what ifs". lol

Punished extensively indeed...I say if you throw up downtown your punishment should be: severe, swift, cruel, and unusual

Like, duct tape him to the base of the goal post and make him watch the TD he got abused on against CMU on a continuous loop on the scoreboard for a few hours???

Typically not a big deal except that it occurred in-season by a Senior Captain of the Hawk team.
Great example of leadership .....would love to have seen the reaction if this had been a Cyclone player.

Most likely a 1-2 game suspension.

Hate to say it, but you got to sit him against MSU or even more. With as hard as the team is working, it is not fair to them. Accountability. If what you are doing is bad for your team, it's the wrong choice.
