Hear me out, our fall back could be our answer.

Temper your optimism. Iowa Stats:
1. 222 yards of offense, 166 passing and 61 rushing.
2. 14 of 32 passing completion rate.
3. 2.26 yds per rush atempted. 1 fumble
4. Time of possession 26 minutes.
5. No offensive TD in the 2nd half. So far Iowa offense has 4 games not scoring a TD in the 2nd half.

Hill's passes much better than Petris, so that is a major positive.

This Hill kid is the real deal. The guy has had very limited reps but he went in there and actually looked like a competent FBS level game manager. He had a few bad throws, but those will get cleaned up. I could see this team making some noise now. Cade is a good dude, a good player, but he was clearly injured and limited. Hill is gonna win out until the game in Indy.

I don't know why the Never Ferentz bitter enders bother watching Iowa football. You all make it sound like mental torture. I don't watch Fox anymore. I quit watching the NBA years ago. Things change and what I used to enjoy was no longer enjoyable; and I never sounded as negative as the Never Feretnz crowd.

Seriously, just hang up the recliner or watch Ohio St. or Michigan. You'll find that more enjoyable and the actual Iowa fans won't miss your animosity to Iowa football. A win/win result is rare.

Well, we have no choice, we became diehard fans during the Hayden Fry era and now we are stuck.

I just worry about the next Gen of fans that we are potentionally losing.

There are an enormous number of us who are young enough that all we’ve ever known is the Kirk era, and we’re stuck too!

As for the kiddos, it’s the Hawks or the Clowns. Regardless of what weird clowns and Lions fans say, people want a team that wins and plays boring football way more than a team that’s “fun” but caps out in the 6-8 win range.

That said, if Phil is happy to be DC for another decade, I am 100% for finding a dude who wants to modernize the offense.

Were you in Kinnick on Saturday night? Another sell out. A crazy, noisy, wild crowd. Sold out student season tickets. Fans of all ages. Impacted the game significantly. I will wager the Purdue game will be the same atmosphere. Not too worried about fan support or donor $$. Right or wrong,? Who cares?

I think picking up Hill late in the portal will end up being a huge deal for our team. We’re better now. Our offense will be better this week with Hill.
If Iowa’s offense ends up being better this week I’ll chalk it up to the fact they’re playing Purdue.

Call me insane, but I would open the Purdue game with back to back sneaks. First play, go 5 wide, sneak it. Second play, get Hayden Large back there to push and do it again. Third play line up 5 wide again, have Hill take a step like he's gonna run then go up top to one of the TEs down the seam. If we punt, so be it, but send a message to them that their tape is irrelevant which will yield dividends later in the game. I think we could get a first down with back to back sneaks to open the game. I'm pretty optimistic about the QB change.
