Iowa State is going to lose every offensive lineman but the center and 4 of their top 6 on the d line including both tackles.
How in the hell was that a "boring game"? Both teams played good defense, but each team moved the ball too. The game was never more than 1 score difference. I mean are we really going to say now that games are only exciting if the score is 48-45? That shit is what is boring to me. Yeah whoever has the ball last wins, because nobody can play defense, that aint exciting.
Should probably take UNI off the schedule then..They shouldn't be playing games with less than a 75% win probability in the noncon. If they could schedule 3 teams in the 90% range that would be great.
The hawks are only deserving of going up 1 spot in the polls. If they had went for the TD on the opening drive and got it and if they get those other two close throws for TDs and win 30-17 then maybe they could jump to #15.
But the hawks are not going to bypass many of those teams because of past pedigree and results the last few years. A one loss Georgia is still going to be ahead of an undefeated Iowa even at week 8
Can’t put out an A game every game. This was one of those games. Too bad it was a rivalry game instead of MTSU.I’m listening to the On Iowa podcast right now, and it pisses me off even more now on how shitty a job Miller and Deace did with their podcast. I mean what a joke of a podcast Miller and Deace put out this week.
I’d pay to listen to them if I could just pay for the podcast. I’m not buying a Register subscription just for a podcast.I find the “on Iowa” podcast to be the most informative of any Iowa related media output. Doc and morehouse do great. Chad leistikow and mark emmert are good too, but they don’t provide near the depth and they are going behind a paywall now.
Mic dropShould probably take UNI off the schedule then..

Totally agree. Plus it was like Jon was scared to push back and say, wait a minute here. Iowa played like crap and STILL won the game. I mean in other podcasts Deace went on and on and on about how great it was that Minnesota beat SDSU and Fresno St. quit possibly even program defining wins. Yet Iowa actually beating a quality opponent while not playing its best was nothing at all. That is why I started this thread, it was a horrible podcast after such an epic game. The Washed up Walkon podcast was 1000% better talking about how tough it would have been mentally to stay in the game, etc.
All fair points. However, I felt it was beyond credit - it literally turned into the CycloneNation appreciation fest. More gushing over ISU, Jon included, than about Iowa. Deace indirectly downplayed the Iowa actually winning the game angle. The quality of this podcast is dropping and fast. Fortunately, there are several other Iowa options, some better.i won't stake my life on it but I believe Deace said in this podcast that this was a defining win for Iowa. I t stood out to me because I'd been reading this thread before listening. Didn't think it was bad. They gave ISU.credit. Big deal.

LOL, one tiny statement crediting Iowa, wow. Nothing wrong with giving ISU credit, just not for 44.5 of the 45 minutes of the podcast.
lOL is right. I expected something say more one sided, oh and Michigan love after reading this thread and just didn't hear it. Desde even said Iowa would probably best them now if they don't figure out the offense. I think some are a bit sensitive. Even on their off days it's the most entertaining podcast.
Deace said it best before the season: "It takes at least TWO losses to knock Alabama out of the playoff. And that's assuming there are multiple undefeated teams."

I'll throw a little more gasoline on the fire.
Jon's commentary on how ISU handled gameday (and the long-term importance of it) was way overblown. In a few weeks, very few people who are not Iowa/ISU fans will even remember that it was actually in Ames.
I love their podcast, I loved their KXNO radio show when it was on. It was just a terrible show. The whole story of the game was how Iowa persevered through all the obstacles to get a win, and we might have gotten 2 min about that. Game Day in Ames, injuries all over the place, 3 hour rain delay at a visiting stadium, opponents score on 2 big plays, everything Iowa had to fight though was ignored.
Just surprised me that they had such great story lines to work with and this is the podcast they gave us? Disappointed is what I am, it was horrible work from 2 who normally do a great job.
