just heard on the broadcast that a ga tech baller's dad played football at iowa only name i could recognize was Bell.

Nope. According to the Georgia Tech basketball site, freshman Brian Oliver is from Glassboro, NJ. It says his dad, Robert, played football at Iowa. Ashamed to admit, I've never heard of Robert Bell.

I remeber a DE that came from JC named Robert Oliver. Played during JHF's era -- but that is about it.

Robert Oliver was a 1980 graduate of Waterloo Central High School. Went to junior college. Played DL for Hayden. Was a pretty good forward on the basketball team that made it to the state semi-finals. was a year ahead of me at Central.
