From the other board (Minny season is over).

There is no way in this universe if OSU doesn't have the requisite number of games that the B1G doesn't reneg and change that rule to allow them to play in it.

OSU is the one and only golden child of the conference and they are to the B1G what Texas used to be to the Big 8/12. I said when they came out with a minimum game requirement that it was dumb because if OSU doesn't meet the minimum they'd change the rule and have egg on their face.
Told ya...

In all honesty, isn't this every QB and Iowa's game every year? Very rarely does Iowa have a dominant game changing QB.

Every year, Iowa and KF's best game plan is controlling the the line of scrimmage and time of possession with the running game and field position.

Well well said. If Chandler were dominant enough in 2003 to rescue a couple games the hawks win or share 3 Big 10 championships in a row. If Stanzi showed so dominantly in late '07 and was the clear #1 qb the hawks could have gone for the title in '08, let alone 09 and maybe finished on in 2010.

A really dominant Nate Stanley carries Iowa to wins over Wisky, PSU, Purdue, and jNW during his tenure (almost all close loses) and perhaps they win at least on Big Champ.

You make a very very good logical point. A player like Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes with their throwing big play ability and ability to run and gut a defense to move the chains and make plays is that type of a player, a Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young, Joe Montana type.

Yea, I just don't think the Iowa coaches put too much on the QB's shoulders and/or ask to do too much. They are the proverbial game manager by getting the ball in others hands without turning it over. Brad Banks was the outlier but was very early on in KF's tenure.

Tom Brady wouldn't displace Petras cause he looks super duper in practice without all the pressure on him. Yeah there's sarcasm in that statement, but it's the Iowa way. Other teams may try 3 qb's in one game to see who rises to the challenge, it takes an injury at Iowa to see the next guys up.
Yes, other teams may try 3 QB's in one game to see who rises to the challenge... in the pre-conference schedule. The only teams who try 3 QB's in one game in their conference schedule are either a) injury-laden or b) desperate. (See Nebraska)
