According to Utoff it was entirely his decision to redshirt. Probably because Bo wanted him to play 4 which he was obviously too skinny for.
He was actually sent to the scorers table to check into a game early in the season but a timeout happened he never ended up going in and he decided to redshirt.

Uthoff is a fine player and will be a major contributor but if he is Iowa's best player then you guys are in trouble. Uthoff is a project both skill wise and especially strength wise. Aaron White is your best player and if you don't know that then you don't know your own team very well.
BTW is everything that Fran says the "best he's ever seen." "That's the BEST burger I've ever had today." "We might be the best team I've ever had" After a while it stops meaning anything.

Yeah I know. After we beat Wisconsin in Madison Fran said that was the best win he's ever had then when we beat Wisconsin AGAIN in Iowa City he said THAT was the best win he's ever had. Geez Fran, hyperbole much?

Fran never said Uthoff was the "best on the team". A message board poster said that. Fran said it was "the best one on one match up since he's been here." Yes, I do know how good White is and the fact Uthoff was going toe to toe with him tells me Uthoff will be pretty good as well.

I think Hawkeye fans know a bit more about Uthoff than you do, no offense.
Many of them watch him play prep ball, PTL, and AAU ball.
Unless you were inside Badger practices, you have less insight than most Hawkeye fans.

Yes but that is CyFans saying that about a player. I'm not saying this about Uthoff, it came from an acquaintance who has actually seen him practice against teammates and was the best player at practice. Conversation I had was they asked me to guess who I thought was the best player on team and I said Marble. Person said no it was Uthoff. I didn't think about him because of him not playing this year but even then I wouldn't have guessed him as being best player on team. There is a reason Bo Ryan was reluctant to just let him walk away.
Yep, replying to one Wisconsin troll in that manner is the same as doing it countless times in all basketball threads. But hey if being a contrarian troll makes you feel productive in life, more power to you.
