Right now, I want the conference to be beatable for our fledging program,but it just aint gonna happen,with 5 top 19 recruiting classes in 2012. Fran is going to have to follow up 2012 with a couple of top 50 type recruits in 2013 with our two schollys.
Jok and Agau would be good,or do better if possible.
I am very surprised by Beilein's recruiting....he seems bland as can be, and Crysler is a crappy facility,but I guess the allure of the fab five continues to resonate. This league is gonna be a ***** with Matta,Beilein,Crean,Izzo,Weber,Painter,and Ryan all recruiting their butts off. Fran is probably 8th at best,if he is ahead of Tubby. The new PSU coach is supposed to be a decent recruiter also,with Sadler and Carmody no slouches....damnnn.

The problem with the post in question was that it was difficult to decipher what the point was.
 
You're really stooping that low to make fun of someone that had a stroke and can't type up to your "standards"? Get off your high horse. It's a message board for crying out loud. We're hear to talk about sports. If you can't read what he is saying because a period is replaced with a comma, then maybe you should be the one going back to grammar school. /endrant

Back to basketball. Although it's beneficial for the Big Ten to be strong, I really do think that it would benefit Fran for this year and possibly next year for it to be down.

Right now, he is selling the program to recruits and more or less blowing smoke out his ***. Yes, he is a good coach. Yes, we have new facilities. Yes, playing time is handily available.

As far as success goes...we have none, recently. If we could get some wins and by some miracle a birth to the Dance, we could start landing some big time players and start getting Iowa some attention. Until then, I want it to be as easy as possible.

Apparently your reading comprehension is lacking a little. I said I didn't know he'd had a stroke. Would I have called him out on that had I known? No. And if you read that post, it truly is tough to figure out just what he's saying, and not just because of the punctuation.
 
So now you are going to attack another Hawk fan and belittle him? You would get a lot more respect if you just man up to it, appologize for it, and stop making excuses. Everyone makes mistakes.

I'll admit I made a mistake, and I'll apologize for that. But to say that I was "stooping to that level" suggests that I actually knew about his condition. Which was a point that I made very clear.

But I'm NOT going to apologize because the next guy can't read a clear statement.

I think you meant McGary, he will not hit the court until next year. It will be fun to watch Woodbury and McGary go at it the next 4 years.
 
yup, i did, but with the addition of Meyer the height difference will be gone as Meyer is 6'11 and up to 220 now, from 210. with a full year of lifting weight, which by his own admission he had never done before. also from some reports off the AAU circuit he had a very good summer, Fran is getting the height

You are completely in the right here. It is awful if that dude had a stroke but the stuff he says is still insane. You did nothing to offend him.

The guy who couldn't read my post was NOT DragonHawk. And I didn't know DH had had a stroke when I called him out.

But OP said he is tired of everyone talking about Iowa in a weak conference. I've never heard that previous to this year. Big Ten has been a very strong conference for a while.
 
it is weaker then last year. I feel Iowa will start out stronger this year then last year and will be better then last year.

Nah, they were saying the Big Ten was weak in 2009-2010 remember? Only 5 teams even made the tournament that year. The 2007-2008 season the Big Ten was also considered weak as they just got 4 teams into the tournament. In fact last year was the first time I've heard experts use the word strong when describing the Big Ten conference in quite some time.

I know this will never happen but I wish Kansas would be considered for Big Ten expansion. This conference could use a shot in the arm in basketball and Nebraska did nothing for the conference for basketball.
