No way Sullivan isn’t QB1 next week, right

The loyalty to Cade is very nice. But there needs to be a loyalty to the fans too. Besides you are probably doing Cade a favor if he does not start. No reason he should get hurt again. He has been through too much already. I liked the way he played at Michigan and would welcome that level of play at Iowa but the season means too much to us and to our Seniors.

We all know Tua Tagovailoa will be the one that is 40 and struggles walking into rooms with the lights turned on. It is cringeworthy watching him play(I can’t do it). Roger Goddell should have flexed and “forced” Tua to retire. I realize the NFL is teflon, but man we don’t need to see Tua with the fencing arm again.
I totally agree. I feel bad for him, and wonder if he's already starting to make bad decisions based on impulse (perhaps he already has some neurological effects).

He seems like a good guy. Playing after all of this head trauma just isn't a good thing.

On a related note, the NFL spends a lot of money on PR trying to convince everyone that the game is so much safer now. PFFT.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was a joke. I guess that is what KF has done to us. Made us question the obvious.

I hope CM is ready and recovered and available as a back-up. That room is thin and this is a huge game.

But, BS just lead the team to two blow-out victories over not terrible teams. He is the starter now. Period.
100% This seems to be as obvious of a move as there is to keep Sully as QB1.

But so shoulda been taking Hill out of pretty much every game he played in and never put him back in last yr too. To have done what they did playing Hill that much means that Lainez and Labas weren't D1 qbs at all. Cause that's what Hill wasn't either. If those 2 couldn't play at all then that means they shouldn't have been recruited and been on roster (in Lainezs case still on)

So with all that as recent history to look at nobody can just assume KF is going to make the right play here. I wouldn't be surprised if he put Cade back in at some point. I'd be just as pissed and mad about it but not surprised. KF has an illogical way of handling QB rooms/depth charts. Always has.

Both decisions were sins of stupidity, but at least with Hill the backup was a freshmen who had never taken a snap. KF has always mistrusted younger QBs with the exceptions of Tate and Stanley. So, the Hill decision was somewhat justified by KF standards and logic.

This year was so worse. CM was ineffective or worse, and you had an experienced, upperclassmen QB behind him good enough to have goal line packages. At least after the OSU game, you had seen enough to warrant a look at the back-up. If he had done the right thing by his team, we might be in the playoff hunt right now.

I believe it would be Criminal for The Captain to play Cade another minute this season

His health should decide the issue

He really doesn't need another concussion/knee injury

Which is entirely possible. football being an extreme contact sport

We are not playing tennis here

And, of course Sully is a better QB, no doubt

I don't disagree with any of this. I just think that Hill was so so so bad that they coulda put the 2nd string kicker in to just hand it off every play and things wouldn't have been as bad. Labas and or Lainez shoulda gotten to play more some last yr.

This yr is different in the ways you stated. Sully isn't an inexperienced freshman/underclassman. He's played BIG football and looked good doing it. Had Sully been playing and getting the first team reps since OSU game the MSU game probably doesn't look like that. Do we win it though? I'm not so sure Defense kinda sucked too that was a total meltdown of a game pretty much. But things woulda been different for sure.

Personally, I would prefer that CM clear concussion protocol and be available as a back-up. Sully takes a lot of hits and if he gets knocked out of the game, I would rather have Cade than the kid I honestly had not heard of until about 5 days ago. We are thin as hell in that QB room right now. A healthy CM would provide me some comfort.

As for the sport being dangerous, I get it. That is a decision for the doctors and CM to make. If he is cleared and wants to play, he should be suited up.
