Enough of the negativity

There has been an influx in the past few months of garbage posters. I dont know where they came from, but I sure wish theyd leave. Freed and Myth come to mind. Ive not read one post from them that was wasnt a waste of my time.

Our line was gelling before the PSU game. If you couldnt see that, youre and idiot that doesnt know jack about football. We had a great running game. Weisman wasnt running into brick walls, he was running through people. I bet he had 1/2 of 3/4 of his yards off the left side. I mean my fat a$$ could have run through those holes even. Our D line WILL be better. Our O-line WILL better, and our QB play WILL be better, couldnt be much worse. I am concerned about the recievers and the secondary. Thats it. I think we win 8 games next year, going into the bowl game.

I know there is talent at both positions but they need the chance to prove themselves. The secondary has a ton of talent especially in this '13 recruiting class, would have been even better with Hill but we still have Ruben Lile who was in the running for a position in the two deeps until he had a season ending injury. Same with Jordan Lomax until he hurt his shoulder and had to have surgery, which is why Kevin Buford and Shawn Draper played so much.

As for WRs, I don't know this one really scares me. But if Powell stays committed and comes here he better make the most of his opportunity, Iowa needs him to do it.
 
yeah, im not saying they cant do it. Im just saying im the most concerned about them. They have the most to prove.

But are these returning starters any good. I think we have a good oline, some decent linebackers but they are really hole-pluggers. Thats about it. I dont see any sanders, roths, clayborns, stanzi' djks, or spiveys coming back.

I wish and hope that these players really improve in a year by Sept 1 because I want them to win and succeed, for them and for the fans.

I hope ferentz can do it again but if 2013 is bad that will really be 3.5 years of avg to below avg football.
 
I will say this. The Kinnick crowd (That's us) isn't what it used to be either. The crowd really was a joke at every game except the Minny game and PSU (never had a chance to be in that one). I really think we lost some of our home field advantage because too many dudes like on here are talking crap on the hawks instead of making some noise and cheering......we get what we deserve too!! The Clown fans actually were better fans this year.......even before they beat us.

Given I only attended two games this season UNI and PSU but everyone in my section for both games were extremely into the game, PSU once it was out of hand by the end of the half, people were starting to stop cheering and started to leave. It was cold and the game was obviously over. I stayed the whole game, my wife is still ****** about it because she was with me.
 
Hawkeye football has to rebuild. It is not able to reload like the OSU's of the world. KF frustrates me from time to time but he really is a great coach and a great fit for Iowa.

I think a lot of people forgot the things he does off the field and just focus on how they don't like his style on the field.

Stanzi was a 2 star recruit that did not play as a freshman, and Spievey was a 2 star recruit playing in junior college. Few would have expected that they would both become stars for Iowa, and would be playing in the NFL today. So you never know about the current players either.

Rick was a 3 star guy on Rivals. Rick Stanzi - Yahoo! Sports

Spievey was a 2 star guy on Rivals. Amari Spievey - Yahoo! Sports

Speivey was a 2 star guy on HI. Scout.com: Amari Spievey Profile

Both did have great careers at Iowa, Speivey was shorter lived but he moved on to play in the NFL.

But most 2 star guys aren't going to have the careers that those two guys did. That is the issue with the last couple of years, too many guys who weren't diamonds in the rough. Once the better players, who are more athletic start learning the system and gaining experience this past season is going to become the norm.

Sorry about Rick, I was looking on scout.com. Just pointing out that some of the guys will surprise people as they did.

With more and more 3* guys and less 2* guys and walk ons in the two deeps I think less and less Iowa will rely on them.

I agree, many guys will surprise. Travis Perry was a walk on and he played some this past season. He could be a guy to watch as well.

Dave I was at all of the games and have been for many years. The crowd really was just as impressive as the team. Too many 230 games in Sept I guess and too many beers for the nay sayers. Everyone associated with the hawks needs to improve next year. We have some big home games and the crowd need to "step up" and do better too
 
The crowd? Seriously the crowd, you people are attacking the crowd. There was nothing to cheer for 75% of the time at Kinnick this year.

When a better product is put on the field the crowd will cheer according to that product.

As a 8+ year season ticket holder I'm sorry I don't get pumped up as we get pummeled by PSU or when the O becomes so inept we can't move the ball in the second half against the gophers or wait what about that shoot out against ISU.

Don't pop off at the crowd, stop looking through fog colored glasses and realize the crowd had very little to cheer for this year.
