In all seriousness, I don't have a team. I have a pet rock farm because they are easier to maintain. They sit in a box and do nothing. I haven't sold one on my ebay account yet. My business is going to take off real soon, I can feel it in my bones.

Many things he does drives me nuts, like sit back and let his QB's run off time in the 2 minute drill when he clearly didn't explain to them to get on the ball and spike it if you don't make the first down or get tackled in bounds and when, blow me away every time. You would think that I would learn to see it coming but everytime I flip out.
It's like seeing the hot chick in horror movies who just got laid in a tent out in the woods on the anniversary of a horrific murder and the kill was never found. You always see it coming she is going to die, horribly. And you yell as loud as you can but the stupid blonde can't hear you because it's a movie! But that doesn't stop you from yelling "run you stupid moron" everytime.

Great analogy, the worst part is as a fan you are emotionally invested in the game/team.
The good thing about the movie is nobody cares about that dumb blonde, there is still a brunette and red head that will get smoked later. There is only one Iowa Football and when the same mistakes get made over and over and over it isn't as entertaining as a scary movie.

I care about the blonde because if it is a good horror movie you get to see her nice fun bags. Usually the brunette and red head are actresses who refuse to show off "the goods".
The thing that separates the great horror movies from the good horror movies is the great ones to have two things, #1 lots of fun bags, multiple women, but in different scenes, #2 lots of blood.
Your point about being emotionally invested in the game/team, 100% true.

Most of the posters on here are not very knowledgeable when it comes to the game of football. With that said, I usually come on here to get a good laugh reading some of the whiny posts. It is nice to know there are bigger losers out there than me. lmao!

Don't go to the games then man. If everything sucks so bad then why do spend time even writing about it. There is only one of group of folks that "might" have an impact we can change. Thats us. The players and coaches aren't looking for any of our posts to make great changes. I really really didn't like JVBs play this year, but Iowa fans booing their QB..............bullS#@T. I spend lots of money and take my family to every single home game and have for many many years. Last year was the first time I was really disappointed in how people acted around young children and older folks at the games. People not acting like Hawkeye fans..........No only the play on the field has fallen way off.
Clim, I agree with you post but unfortunately it seems too many people believe they are entitled to the team playing to their own expectations as a fan because they are invested in the program. Heck, maybe that gives them the right to be disappointed but booing at games to me isn't right. Given I don't invest thousands of dollars each year in tickets, donations, tailgating and buying gear.
I do go to two or three games a year and usually buy a few hundred dollars worth of gear but I have loved hawkeye football my whole life. Listening to Iowa games on the radio with my family and going to games with my grandparents when they had season tickets were some of my best memories as a child.
Either way, you should take your own advice, if you don't like how the crowd has become at home games, you don't have to go either.

When we do good they cheer, when we do bad they boo. Straight up fair weather fans and they act like its ok. Id blame their parents....
I agree and I think too many people play the "I'm emotionally and financially invested so I have the right" card too much.
Then again, as I said above, I don't invest thousands of dollars year in and year out.
In the end, I look at it as college sports are no different than pro sports, there entertainment plain and simple. Just because you CHOOSE to donate to a school doesn't give you the right to act like a spoiled rotten child who gets what they want whenever they cry loud enough because their parents would rather do that than actually discipline them and raise them correctly.

I get that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, if you don't like it then don't read it, etc... but what I want to know is, those of you that have been posting the negative on here since last Sept/Oct, don't you ever get tired of being negative all the time? I think if it made me so miserable that I felt I had to be negative all the time, I would definitely quit doing what was making me feel that way!
