Enough of the negativity

Wow, maybe its me but I've come to see how incredibly negative the fan base has become on this forum. Maybe we all need to step away, go outside for some fresh air and sunshine. I honestly think it has become fashionable for many to stay frustrated, angry and negative. Some would rather stay angry and be proven right about bad stuff. People don't want to risk being positive (oh my gawd I might be proven to hope in vein).

It's just Iowa football pepole. Get some perspective.

and now - I'll await your criticism.

Of course there is more to life than Iowa football. Last I checked however,....this is an Iowa football website right?? Also, there is very little to be positive about in the Iowa football program right? I hope this helps NC.

I'll give you some positibity...

99% of the time I can come to HN and talk about the catastrophe known as the Iowa Hawkeye Football Team without some holier-than-thou poster telling me that there's too much negativity on the boards.

Most people are negative and get a subconscious satisfaction from it. Listen to people where you work, at restaurants, in general conversation, etc. we are big fat Americans that like to complain.

I truly believe this is the worst, especially the things people say out loud in public. My wife and I barely talk during dinner at restaurants and just listen to the stupid things people say. We were in a restaurant a few weeks ago listening to a woman tell her friend about her husband's affair, the wife telling the story didn't get mad or cry but spilled all the details because the "other woman" called her and told her everything.

Then the night of the election we were out to dinner and a woman was going on and on about how American is full of morons who don't know the requirements for a person to become president because Obama isn't an American citizen. Someone at her table said "he provided a birth certificate after several months of the republicans demanding it." Her reply was well "I didn't get a copy of it, as an American I should be able to obtain a copy for my records."

Winning solves everything. Until we win, we're stuck with whining.

<If only I had known it was that simple.>

This fan base expects Rose Bowls and by gawd they deserve them. The vaunted history of this program is fading away into the dark abyss.

To get some of you boneheads back on topic; the OP suggests that what we need is more sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows.
If we all just think things are ok and getting better, they will. Hmmm.......speaking of Barry Hussein Obama.

I don't mind the negativity as long as it relates to the topic of the thread. What gets to be a little bit tiresome is the out-of-the-blue attacks of KF or GD. Even occasionally in b-ball threads, no less.

Did you visit the basketball section of this forum during the Lick years? Other than a couple of loud mouth trolls this section has been rather mild. But if they do not show improvement next year this forum will get ugly.
