Embarrassed to be a Hawkeye fan...

To Huskerland Hawk, I know what you mean. But, you're not embarrassed to be a Hawkeye Fan, you are embarrassed BY certain Hawkeye fans and their constant negative, irrational, and sometimes delusional thinking. I feel the same way sometime. But then I talk to other Hawk fans around here and get that old Hawk Pride back.

As for Sparky, if you are so embarrassed, why do you even post here? Nothing you say is going to change anything. No one is going to fire Ferentz because YOU don't think he can coach. I hate to say it, but if you are embarrassed by this last game, you probably shouldn't be a fan of the Hawkeyes. Too much aggravation in your life can be hazardous to your health. I'm just saying. : )

Are you seriously ok with losing to NIU and being on a 7 game losing streak? If you are then you've got your head in the sand.

I'm proud to be a Hawkeye fan. On my last deployment to the sandbox I would stay up all night waiting for the Hawks to play on the AFN. However, like the rest I to am upset by what happened last Saturday and last year for that matter. I do believe that this team will come out of the darkness and restore the luster of the black and gold.

It's hilarious that some people think not jumping off the ledge because of losing to NIU (who actually is a pretty solid team) and riding a 7 game losing streak, means that someone is okay with all that.

I'm not happy with where the program is at right now. But I'm not going to lose my mind all over the internet about it, either.

No, you just look at someone who isn't calling for Ferentz's head and think that they must be thrilled with the state of the program.

Showing a little patience, especially when the team looked a lot better last week than it did a year ago, is hardly thinking that everything's good now. But it might be getting better, and it's ridiculous that some people don't seem to care about that. They just want to keep whining.

If someone talks like they're ok with the state of the program they're probably happy with the state of the program. I admit I'm not at all happy with the program and until they start showing some real signs of life by beating a good football team I'm going to continue being unhappy with it. I don't think a winning record each season in the Big 10 is that much to ask for. I also don't think expecting Iowa to beat a MAC team is that much of a stretch either. After the crap that Iowa put on the field last year nobody should be happy. Iowa will still be lucky to get to 5 wins.

And nobody IS happy. Nobody denies that the program needs to get moving in the right direction again. But some of us saw progress last week and are eager to see what more progress can be made over the next few weeks. That's not the same thing as believing everything's good. And it's not the same thing as demanding a total house cleaning.

In the last few years there has already been a pretty good house cleaning with the exception of one man. We all know who that is. With Ferentz around the same stupid decisions are going to keep being made week after week.

Tork Id say the people losing their head are the kirk fans running around the board defending kf. Id say the anti kirk crowd is more same old same old. I didnt even post about the game till mon or tues.

Kirk fans are getting all worked up and if the season goes down they will be gone just like importedclownhok23 last year.

Last years Kirk deserved no defending. This year, so far, he deserves some credit for implementing changes. Changes sometimes evoke pain... Sometimes those pains include losing to a MAC team.

Anyone remember the ledge jumpers in 2011 when our basketball team lost convincingly to the juggernaut that is the Campbell Fighting Camels? I'd put money on most of those jokers being the the same that are ready to jump after what we saw on saturday.
