Umm, but he's explaining WHY his distance may have decreased! Or maybe he's hitting more 3 woods off the tee instead of driver and the PGA stats do not differentiate. Get with it guy.

this. I've seen him "take a little off" his driver so it's more accurate.

Do you have any idea how they determine driving distance in the PGA? It's not a collection of every shot off the tee. Maybe you need to get with it.

You are right it is not every tee shot, but it does not mean that the holes selected are not ones where some players may hit 3 woods instead of drivers. Here is exactly how driving distance is established --

"The average number of yards per measured drive. These drives are measured on two holes per round. Care is taken to select two holes which face in opposite directions to counteract the effect of wind. Drives are measured to the point at which they come to rest regardless of whether they are in the fairway or not."

At some tournaments there may not be two holes that meet this specifications where all players are going to have to pull the driver to reach the green in regulation.

You're a feisty one. You mean they don't count par 3 in averaging distance? Yes, I knew they only count 2 holes. But these guys don't always hit driver. Your golf "knowledge" is scary.

Bubba Watson is also on that list and in 2006 when joining the PGA was averaging 319 yards on his drives, now he's at 305. If the equipment has so much to do with it then why hasn't Bubba improved on his driving distance?

Because he's older and smarter. Bubba is another example of a guy who hits it a ton and weighs 180. My guess would be he's too busy working on the General Lee to worry about taking PEDs. Think what you want......but you're "evidence" isn't very compelling.

Bubba has done really well exchanging distance for accuracy when he's #4 in driving distance and 155 in accuracy.

I'm pretty good at golf. I have a compact power swing which results in longer drives and good accuracy. I doubt you know what that means though.
