Doyle Put on Paid Administrative Leave Pending External Investigation

in my opinion, if people want change, they need to give people the opportunity to change. If Doyle is remorseful and becomes an advocate for change, would that not move the needle more than firing every person who made a racial innuendo or slight in their lifetime? Build bridges don't burn them.

I can see KF trying to sell that to the administration, but getting overruled or given an ultimatum.

What the Clemson assistant said to a player was about as bad as it gets. Dabo seems to have it pretty swept under the rug so far.
Dabo stepped in it pretty good himself this week. He made a self serving, heavy handed statement basically seeing African Americans as a means for him to win championships and get rich, with little other use for them.

If what Diante Morrow said is true (go back to the ghetto comment by Doyle and KF suspending him and making him apologize) Kirk should be fired.

“IF” this story is true. Much like #metoo, probably 90 true stories, 10% money extortion and hysteria. I refuse to believe every women and I won’t believe every player.

The momentum on this thing isn’t great, but if the investigation uncovers Kirk contributed to the problem then he’ll be gone, rightfully so.

We will become a laughing stock and suck for a generation.

Or, Kirk stays and start getting murdered on recruiting by being called the racist school.

We are already fucked either way. The party is over folks.

It was a hard sell to get black athletes to Iowa before all this just imagine if this unravels the way it has the potential too.

I realize there are far more important things at play here, but just imagine 3-9 seasons and the ISU game being our Super Bowl.

The whole thing is disheartening and blows.

If they start in on basketball then someone better look about three hours to the northeast where an average men's roster has been comprised of perhaps one fourth African Americans, where the leading African American scorer just transferred, and where THEIR strength and conditioning coach just resigned.

Fran has tried to recruit certain players. He frequently ends up looking like the contending bidder at the 4-H pig and cattle auction that only ends up driving up the price but rarely gets the prize.

This is not just an Iowa problem. And while you didn't say it we need to stop with the Penn State comparisons. Immediately!
I didn’t make a comparison to Penn St. I just said that something like that remark would stop someone in their tracks that were giving you hard time. You gotta man up to people who chastise you or you are forever gonna play that victim card.

The recruiting trail is the issue. The major issue going forward. I don’t know how Iowa gets another out of state black recruit with a ferentz in control. It seems impossible

This is a problem. people are more concernerd about recruiting and attracting the AA Football players, having a football team than dealing with the problem at hand.

This is going to have a butterfly effect that unfortunately are going to hurt others down the road. Nationally I can see this affecting colleges everywhere. White coaches could be careful about offering scholarships to black athletes. So maybe 200-300 scholarships end up going to more white kids every year. The black athletes end up at smaller schools and not get the training or opportunities afforded them at a bigger university. Nationally more coaches will be booted and the game starts to suffer. All this because four dirty cops killed a black guy, which is a tragedy itself. Which does not have a damn thing to do with sports. Everybody forgets, this is about cleaning up the police. We need to concentrate on that issue. From that others can learn from that and adjust on a personal level. But I think it’s wrong to start calling people out that have nothing to do with the police. Let’s fix one broken thing at a time! It starts when the police are held accountable for killing all people and keep getting away with it! Then and only then can we deal with the other issues.

it’s a huge problem, how about starting with recruiting the athletes already in the building to stay and give KF a chance to change things.

I stated that there were more important things at play here.

No I didn't say it and message boards for other schools are saying it PSU, MSU and OSU fans didn't see it at their schools and collectively we did.

At this point and time this may be as big or bigger in the eyes of others. Certainly in the eyes of recruits.

This is a problem. People reading something, then saying they said the complete opposite of what they said.

I am glad Iowa took this step. After Dabo swept the Asst calling his players the N word and no one batting an eye, at least we are stepping up and helping the cause.

If Clemson players start talking, we showed everyone we were ahead of the curve. You know this isnt just an Iowa problem. This action, however extreme it gets, will make Iowa look good in the end.

We took care of the problem. We are indeed interested in helping the black student.

I know if someone said something to me when I was somewhere where I was the majority, it would feel different than it would if someone said the exact same thing to me where I was a minority. If you already feel a little out of place somewhere, you are bound to get more offended at things. I'm guessing a lot of the black people who went through the program recognize that. Some maybe didn't. We have to remember that only one guy is completely against the program right now. All the others that are talking are just pointing out issues that need addressed.
