He's always MIA for a bit after the Hawks win and the Clones lose. Especially when his favorite boy Bohannon plays so well. Takes him a little bit to recover.

That or he realizes that a real fan doesn't come trolling RIGHT away......problem is he can't help it and is trolling usually by the day after the win.

Shooting 37% from 3 point range for the year. That bodes well. I wonder what the school record is for most made 3 pointers by a Fr.?

Gatens with 52 (JB has 50) but he's also already taken 7 attempts more than Gatens. JB (.368) and Moss (.364) would be 8th and 9th in 3P% for a frosh at the moment, right behind Brody Boyd (.373) and Josh Oglesby (.372). The top 5 (Kelly, Gatens, Luehrsmann, Galloway and Settles) are above .381.

Thanks for the info! I'm surprised it is only 52 actually.

Really no Kingsbury? That doesn't seem right.

Kingsbury made 44 of 137 as a freshman. JB's next attempt will be 137 for comparison, Chris really didn't shoot an outrageous amount until the next year. The team also only played 27 games that year.

Kingsbury was the man. Its crazy to think Jbo is in that league. Hell already past it. Considering he is scoring as well as handling the ball a ton and facilitating the offense. I'm stoked to see how much he can grow from this experience. I think these hawks are destined to fly high.

He's running out of ammo as long as Iowa wins and JBo plays well. All he had were some stats, which continue to get better. A little more improvement and he'll have nothing except defense, which every single poster here agrees will likely always be Jbo's weakness due to physical limitations (although, i'll still contend his defense can improve greatly with experience, and as the players around him improve on defense).

Where his idiotic narrative falls apart is that no one thinks Jordan is going to be an All American or elite B1G pg. We simply see the player for which he is, and obviously can be, which is good pg, good shooter that can stretch a defense with his range, an excellent free throw shooter, good passer. He is a star at Iowa, not because he's an incredible physical talent, but because he's a starting point guard on a team that can be awesome to watch, and shows great promise. Hell, in my eyes the biggest star on Iowa's team is Nick f'n Baer, a former walkon, who isn't going to hardly ever show a great offensive stat line, but might very well be the most important player on Iowa's team for the next 2 years.

Oh, Jbo, true frosh.

Rest assured, he ain't gone. If by chance he isn't just a massive troll (and if he is, you do gotta give him some props, he made some hay through repetition and crawling under skin, including mine, that said, if he is actually a Hawk fan, it's just idiocy and sad). I've never seen a legitimate fan dig there heals in to that level. The way he switches narrative, deflects, and just spouts junk facts, it's incredible. His agenda is weird and he could have easily made his case with his opinion without be a complete tool about it.

Wait until a loss or rough game by JBo, or before.

If he is a troll, iv'e been successfully trolled. guilty.

You make some solid points. I think people root for JBo, speaking for myself anyways, partly because of all the scrutiny that was involved with Fran offering him. So many people freaked out about it, and he's come in and outplayed everyone's expectations. He has absolutely proven that he deserved that scholarship. He has proven that he belongs. He has proven that he can play at this level, and be a pretty darn good player at this level. He's only a true freshman for christ sakes. He's got ice in his veins. His demeanor is excellent. He doesn't shy away from the moment. It's easy to root for a kid like that. It's actually very similar to Baer. No one really expected much out of both of them, and you can tell by their play that they use that as motivation. Those are Iowa guys. Unheralded, hard working, Iowa guys. It's easy to cheer for them.

That's why 56 is absolutely a troll. I don't know why any Iowa fan would hate on a kid like JBo. He's done nothing but prove most of his doubters wrong. You aren't an Iowa fan if you don't appreciate that. 56 is a freaking troll. There's no doubt about it. Don't give him credit for being anything else.

Great points DP

I don't think anyone else would possibly say that JBo is a disappointment other than 56 with his trolling. I really expected a kid would wouldn't be able to bring the ball up the court, wouldn't be able to get spacing to get his shot off, and a kid who was just going to struggle more than most adjusting to D1/B1G play because of his physical size. I thought he might average 5-10 MPG, 2-3 PPG and 2 APG. What he has done with his limitation and already making HUGE adjustments to take advantage of what he does well is simply remarkable.

So for me it was more the expectations really. Like for Cook, I expected a 4* kid to be good from the start, with more just typical Fr. issues. Jordan I expected ZERO and have gotten so much more from him, heck he is doing what a lot of 4* PG aren't.

He called Wagner a clear miss as well. I might be cray cray but I am loving me some Wagner as this season progresses. What's hard for a lot of posters to understand is that most players don't come into the program ready to be contributors immediately. It takes time. He called Moss a miss because he red-shirted. Wagner a miss because he wasn't All B1G caliber by the 6th game of his sophomore year. Some where on another thread someone was talking about how great Baers hands were in the post and how Cook is just terrible and a turnover waiting to happen and how could it be that Baer, who's a walk on could be so much better. Well, it's easy - Baer is in his 3rd of the program. Same with Ellingson - who's wrote him off before this year? Let's all write Christian Williams off too. We can complain a lot about Fran but player development is something he's excelled at since coming to Iowa. Hell, he got more out of Andrew Brommer than anyone would have imagined in 1 season.

Talking about players limitations or weaknesses isn't a bid deal or bad thing. Completely trolling a player is out of bounds, and 56 should have been gone long ago.....

Wagner has steadily improved all year long. He looked so athletic last night, got up fast for a couple dunks. He is playing more confident and playing through contact where early in the year contact bothered him and he would miss bunnies and chippies if you got physical with him. Not any longer it seems. He goes up strong and can finish through contact now.

yeah, it's almost like he's maturing and getting comfortable with more playing time and a bigger roll... who could have predicted that sort of thing?

Agreed all around. If Wagner finds a jumper...whoa nelly. He's a beast.

It's funny how a week ago it was 33%, and now after a couple pretty good games it's 37%

Early in the year when he was missing all those bunnies, I said it was one of two things. It was either a mental thing where the game was a little too fast and once it slowed down he would start finishing. Or it was physical where he just didn't physically have good touch with the ball. The first one could be a quick fix and the second one could only slightly improve with time. Turns out it was the first one.
