Don't respond to 56 Thread

Another thing I enjoy is listening to the games with opponent announcers. Deon Thomas had nothing but high praise about Jok. There was no grandstanding about the great defense on Jok, but how even when Jok would miss, what great moves he did to set up the defender. It was a bit unusual. Can't think of his name, but the guy on the Big Network who used to do Illinois games did the same thing....

I smell a lot of Cyclone trolling on this thread

there's blood in the water - 99% of the constant trolling from posters on here aren't even Hawkeye fans. I'm very disappointed in this years team but I am not ready to throw the baby out with bathwater. If Fran could build us from the ashes with what he had going for him at the time he took over, I am confident he can do it again in a much better situation.

Conner could prove to be Fran's undoing at Iowa. Not saying Conner doesn't belong. I can see Fran expecting more of him than what he can do. Fran's demeanor will make for interesting distractions. I could see some ugly things coming between the kid, the coach and the wife. Unless he learns to control his emotions.

I have thought this myself. I wonder if that is why they have him walk on, this way there isn't as much pressure.

No, it's on the player. Players play hurt because of coaches, not players. Fran certainly has a better view than we do on TV. Same with KF.

I disagree. Sometimes the coach/doctor needs to take away the helmet (football) or sit the player when they are not able to do what they normally can. Most players are going to feel they are able to play no matter how they feel.

You know that gets old after awhile (Calling things Cyclone trolling). I occasionally go to other forums (not Cyclone though) just to see what fans of opponents are saying. What is interesting is that I don't see fans of other teams posting on opponents sites, but Hawkeye fans do.

When the Clones beat us in something they post over here constantly. When they don't win they go away or pose as Hawk5656

You can tell how they are performing and moving. CJ and Jok were obvious. JB would not have been as obvious if you didn't know he'd had IV's. Deon Thomas mentioned it several times during the broadcast.

I'm sorry it gets old, but there is a ton of it on this FREE board. You don't see it very much on the "pay to play" boards.

Lots of Cyclone fans post on this board under phony names. If you don't think that is happening, I think you are kidding yourself. Is it wrong? No. Can it be stopped? Probably not. Do I have to take their posts seriously? No, I don't. Do you have to take my posts seriously if choose not to do so? Of course not.

Iowa badly needs someone other than Dolph to do the radio broadcast. He is painful to listen to anymore, and his tone is pretty much the same if we give up an open 3 or we convert an alley oop. John Walters is annoying but every time ISU takes a shot he acts like it's going in.

I just don't see it, but maybe it's there. Awhile back, I had a few saying that about me when I disagreed. Me a Cy Fan? Honestly I went to an out of state school because growing up near IC I couldn't stomach the thought and ISU had my major and Iowa didn't.

Not all who are accused are guilty. Like the Salem Cy Hunt. I've interviewed for some jobs at ISU, but turned them down as I didn't like the arrogance. Arrogance is a problem at any university but ISU is worse than Iowa on a lot of levels. Having worked for a major Big University, I can say that university employees are some of the best and worst I've ever worked with. What is missing is the middle that you see in business. Seems like workers are either really good and hard working or lazy/ and not hard working. If one stands out, you can become a target.

This thread is 10x better than any other thread during the losing streak. It's enjoyable not to have to scroll through the spewing trolls....

There are some Cyclone trolls on here. 56 is just the most obvious. Your original post about it happening more with Iowa fans just isn't true though. Who accused you of being a Cyclone fan?

I'm already concerned that some (I've seen a few posts) are expecting Connor to come in and be some kind of savior. Connor McCaffrey is not a great bb player. He's good. But he isn't a savior. I wouldn't even be surprised if he just stuck with baseball.
Now Patrick...........he's pretty damned good and I think he will make a difference.
I'm not worried about FM expecting too much of CM. I'm worried about the fans doing so. If, that is, he decides to play basketball.

Actually I don't remember anymore. It takes awhile to learn names. Still learning.

That describes every industry, every company, and almost every organization, social community on the planet. Government jobs, union jobs, and any organization that puts tenure over performance....likely will be the worse. Meh, it's life in the real world.

I've worked in both sectors, sometimes at the same time. They are not the same. Universities and Fed Govt has some of the absolute best...and worst. Not much in the middle. Industry has a very large middle in comparison. Top public have learned the art of process and bottom line. Top business, it's pretty much bottom line and process out the door.

Then there are university football coaches.

...and union heads, and executives, and tenured employees. I've worked with both as well....seen both ways. Everyone's experience is different. As in most things, the truth is overall, somewhere in the middle, overall.

I'm with you here. I really think CM ends up playing baseball only at Iowa. If he does decide to play, we still need to find a guard imo and have some natural attrition in the post.
